Students of Xiamen University of Technology won the highest prize of "Han Suyin International Translation Competition"

Recently, in the 33rd Han Suyin International Translation Competition, Chen Meijin, a 2018 English major at Xiamen University of Technology's College of Foreign Chinese, won the highest award in the competition- the first prize of English to Chinese, Chen Jing, Lu Jiahui, Xu Jiayan (Chinese International Education) won the second prize of English to Chinese, Liu Jing won the third prize of English to Chinese, and Weng Miao, a Japanese major, won the Excellence Award for Japanese to Chinese. The number of awards and award levels of Xiamen University of Technology students have ranked first in the English-to-Chinese group for two consecutive years.

It is understood that the Han Suyin International Translation Competition is currently the translation competition with the longest organization, the largest scale and the most extensive influence in the translation industry. Since 2006, the School of Foreign Chinese of Xiamen University of Technology has organized students to participate in the Han Suyin International Translation Competition 15 times, and the number of winners has been at the forefront of participating universities at home and abroad for many consecutive years. The competition was jointly sponsored by the China Translation Association and Beijing Second Foreign Chinese College, and jointly organized by the editorial department of China Translation and the Advanced School of Translation of Beijing Second Chinese University of Foreign Studies, and a total of 13,944 translations were received from English to Chinese, 6,855 from Chinese to English, 1,057 from Japanese to Chinese, and 315 from Chinese to Japanese.
