so......
Why are these 20 candidates?
What is the purpose of our vote?
After voting, how to get the bird watching manual
Let's take a closer look!
01. In a modern urban environment
Who are the most representative wildlife taxa?
birds!
Really, whether it's the occasional singing in the morning, the figure flashing in front of the headlights at night, or the carefully protruding head when rummaging through the fallen leaves in the mountains, or, in our sleep, skimming over the city, overlooking the neon and the lights of the migratory army...
Birds, a constant reminder, are home to wildlife in the hustle and bustle of human-dominated ecosystems.
Above: Middle sandpiper in the migration of Changshu iron yellow sand
Below: Grey-headed wheat chicken migrating along the Taicang River
As the largest river in China, the Yangtze River has a total length of 6300 kilometers, and the basin area accounts for about 18% of the national land area.
In the past half century, the economy of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River has developed rapidly, but at the same time, the habitat of wild animals has also been damaged to varying degrees, urban green spaces are highly artificial, the population is expanding, and the holidays are concentrated... All this has caused the animals that originally inhabited the land to experience a sharp decline in distribution and population decline.
High-intensity anthropogenic disturbances and environments completely different from the wilderness test the resilience of birds in cities.
What can we do for birds?
02. One Yangtze River Five cities
Top 10 Bird Star Selection Event
The selection activity of "One Yangtze River City Top Ten Bird Stars" was jointly initiated by Kunming Suzaku Bird Research Institute and Huatai Securities "Yixin Huatai One Yangtze River" Ecological Protection Project, and AMITY Foundation provided public welfare operation support.

Shanghai Ecological Nanhui Team, Suzhou Forestry Society, Zhejiang Wild Bird Society, Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo, Wuhan Bird Watching Association.
Based on public participation, based on various forms such as bird surveys, popular science lectures, photography exhibitions, etc., the activities are supported by data to select the city's "Top Ten Bird Stars".
Since August this year, the Suzhou Forestry Society has successively carried out a variety of online and offline bird science popularization activities. The latest event, on the 7th day of the National Day, we watched the fierceness of Yuyang Mountain.
