"The leaves are pale, and the white dew is frost." The so-called Iraqis are on the water side. Jiān (jiā) zhongba refers to a plant called hagi; 萩, which refers to the nascent reeds..." September 19 is the "Beijing Wetland Day", the Haidian District Landscaping Bureau held a theme activity in the Cuihu National Urban Wetland Park to publicize the knowledge of wetland protection, and also released wild animals rescued such as Mandarin ducks and red horned owls, leading citizens and tourists into the wetland to understand the plants in the Book of Poetry.
"Mandarin ducks nest in trees and hatch, and when the little Mandarin ducks grow up, they will jump from the trees, and the big Mandarin ducks will take them to forage for food. These little Mandarin ducks are obstructing traffic, and were sent by the transportation department..." During the flight activity, the staff of Cuihu Wetland Park was operated and explained.
"How big were they when they first arrived" "They grew so big in three months"... In the crowd, adults and children asked questions curiously while watching, and the staff answered them one by one.
"Wow!" The door opened, and the Mandarin Duck rushed out of the box in the blink of an eye, flapping its wings and flying high, and the crowd let out an exclamation.
"The red-horned owl is more alert, we are too close to it, it does not dare to come out." Unlike the Mandarin duck, which can't wait to rush out of the box, the carton has been opened, but the red-horned owl refuses to show its head. The staff put on professional gloves and carefully carried it out before it flew away quickly.
At the event, a total of 6 Mandarin ducks, a national second-level protected animal, 2 red horned owls, and several green-headed ducks were released.
Wild animals were released, and the registered family went into the wetland with the staff to get to know the plants in the Book of Verses. About 140 species of plants are recorded in the Book of Verses, more than half of which can be seen in the Cuihu Wetland. There are 382 species of herbs and 73 species of woody plants in Cuihu Wetland Park.
Wattle, lotus, reed, cattail, quinoa, tateshina, sativa, peach... The staff explained as they walked. "I didn't expect to be able to see the plants described in the Book of Verses, it's amazing!" During the visit, parents and children sighed.
