Niutianyang is located in the northwest suburbs of Shantou City, the southern foothills of Sangpu Mountain, located in the confluence of the Rongjiang and Hanjiang rivers, with a total area of about 50,000 mu and nearly 53 square kilometers, of which 70% are wetlands. In ancient times, it was a bay, and after thousands of years of wind and rain baptism and river alluvial, it gradually formed a tidal flat. There are 268 species of wetland plants, and more than 50,000 migratory birds and waterbirds inhabit here every year, many of which are national first- and second-level key protected birds, as well as some endangered species in the world. In 2004, it was also approved by the United Nations as China's first GEF Wetland International Demonstration Zone. There are more than ten kilometers of long causeways, there are famous mangroves, there are precious wetlands, the sea and the sky and the earth are integrated, fish and shrimp and birds coexist, hundreds of grasses and forests flourish, the air is fresh, the environment is beautiful, and it has become a good place for people to relax and sightsee.
