On November 10, the first steel truss girder of the Niutianyang Expressway Project in Shantou, a key control project of the Niutianyang Expressway Project undertaken by the China Railway Bridge Bureau, was successfully erected, marking a new major progress in the construction of the bridge.

The first girder of the Niutian Yangte Bridge was erected at the site.

The total length of niutian Yangte Bridge is 3960.2 meters, and the main bridge is designed as a double-tower, double-cable-faced steel truss girder cable-stayed bridge. The steel truss girder of the bridge adopts a triangular truss structure with a secondary truss, and its main truss has a center spacing of 16 meters, a truss height of 11 meters, a internodal length of 15.1 meters, and a maximum lifting weight of 956 tons. The whole bridge is equipped with a total of 63 internodes, using high-strength bolted connections, and its standard installation segment is two internodal lengths, and the girder operation is carried out by the process method of side span full jacking and mid-span cantilever erection.

According to the technical person in charge of the Niutianyang Expressway Project Department of the China Railway Bridge Bureau, in order to overcome the practical difficulties such as the high safety risk of steel truss beam transportation, the large volume of steel truss beam structure, and the difficulty of safety management of hoisting operations, the project department actively strengthens on-site control, does a good job in the transportation organization of steel truss beam transportation and construction, continuously optimizes the construction organization plan, and carefully calculates the connection of various processes to ensure that the transportation route and erection route are unimpeded. At the same time, through the rational allocation of resources, increase the investment in personnel and mechanical equipment, and fully ensure the smooth implementation of the first section of steel truss erection process.

Niutianyang Expressway Project is an important part of the expressway network in shantou's comprehensive transportation system, the whole line of the project adopts the three-dimensional cross-sectional design of the main line elevated plus the auxiliary road under the bridge, the total length of the main line is 15.8 kilometers, the total length of the auxiliary road is 12 kilometers, after completion, it will become the fourth sea crossing channel in shantou inner bay, which will play a major role in relieving urban traffic congestion and boosting Shantou's economic take-off.
