The China Former Cambrian Provincial Geological Nature Reserve Management and Conservation Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the "Management and Conservation Bureau") was established in June 2017, and in May this year, the institutional reform was transferred from the former Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources to the Kunming Municipal Forestry and Grassland Bureau. At the beginning of June, the Management and Conservation Bureau was put into place. According to the requirements of the central environmental protection inspector to look back at the rectification, at the end of June and the beginning of July, the pig farm in the core area of Badaowan should be completed.

The pig farm was founded in the 1980s and is home to two families, six people in three generations. According to the regulations and requirements of prohibiting breeding activities in the mianshan area of Dianchi Lake and prohibiting the occurrence of human activities in the core area of the protected area, since 2016, relevant units and departments have actively mobilized two families to move out. However, due to the long-term residence here and no other residence, pig breeding is the main source of livelihood, through the Repeated work of Jinning District and the Management and Protection Bureau, it is impossible to reach an agreement on the compensation standard and amount, and the two families refuse to move away, delaying for nearly 3 years and have been unable to complete the work.

Protecting the environment and meeting the people's needs for a better ecological environment is the original intention and mission of forestry people. The Municipal Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the Management and Conservation Bureau took the theme education of "not forgetting the original intention and keeping the mission in mind" as an opportunity, and successively held coordination meetings many times to find farmers to do the work of thinking, explaining the policy and reasoning, and talking about the development of the situation, through the concentration of more than 140 people in 15 days to do the work, and finally reached a compensation agreement with the masses in accordance with the local compensation standards. On the day of signing the compensation agreement, the evacuation of farmers was completed, and the demolition and leveling and soil covering were completed overnight, and the task of environmental protection supervision and rectification was successfully completed before the deadline. At the beginning of the year, the budget funds of the liquidation work were more than 1.4 million yuan, and the final use of funds was more than 500,000 yuan, saving nearly 900,000 yuan of financial funds.

China's Precambrian Provincial Geological Nature Reserve consists of three parts: xiaoweitou mountain protected area, Badaowan protected area and connecting corridor between the two areas, with a total area of 118.4 hectares (1.18 square kilometers). The main object of protection of the reserve is the Precambrian Cambrian section. The main protection contents are geological relics such as the stratigraphic boundary stratigraphic section of Meishu Village and the paleontological relics of the small shell fossil group. In the reserve, there are three sections, including the tuanshan summit profile, the small crooked head mountain section and the Badaowan section, which are continuous and complete in sequence, rich in small shell fossils and relic fossils, and coexist together, with high research value.

The Meishu village profile is the only Aurora (pre-Cambrian) -Cambrian boundary stratigraphic (standard) profile established in accordance with the standards of the International Federation of Geosciences, and it is also the only stratigraphic profile recommended to the International Federation of Geosciences in China. In particular, the small shell fossil fauna of Meishu Village independently discovered and established by Geological Scientists in China and its three combinations are still the standard for the international division of Aurora (Precambrian, Cryptozoic) - Cambrian (Xiansheng), and it is also recognized as the first act of the Cambrian life explosion, and the famous "Chengjiang Fauna" is the second act of the Cambrian explosion that occurred on its basis. In 1984, it was officially designated by the International Union of Geological Sciences as one of the three candidate profiles of the global Precambrian-Cambrian boundary line, which is of great value for studying the geological development history of the earth 500 million years ago, exploring the origin and evolution of life, and the formation of minerals related to life.
