Urumqi Evening News (reporter Jiang Binwei) After scientific and technological research, at present, the artificial rescue and breeding of two indigenous protected fish in the Ili River Basin of Xinjiang, the Spotted Heavy Lip Fish and the Xinjiang Naked Heavy Lip Fish, have made breakthroughs, obtaining 260,000 fertilized eggs, and it is expected that the task of breeding and stocking this year will exceed 200,000, which has become a vivid practice of in-depth implementation of the No. 1 document of the Central Committee and strengthening the conservation of aquatic biological resources.

On May 11, the reporter learned from Niu Jiangong, senior engineer of the Institute of Fisheries Science of the Autonomous Region, that the institute and the National Energy Group Xinjiang Jilintai Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. completed the artificial rescue and breeding of two indigenous protected fish species in the Ili River Basin, the spotted heavy lip fish and the Xinjiang naked heavy lip fish, and obtained 260,000 fertilized eggs, and it is expected that the breeding and stocking task will exceed 200,000 this year. At the same time, the artificial breeding experiment of the sub-generation reserve broodstock was successful. This marks the realization of full artificial rescue and breeding technology for the artificial rescue of indigenous protected fish in the Ili River Basin, and the breakthrough in the artificial rescue and protection of aquatic wild animals under national key protection.

The Fish Breeding Station of Xinjiang JilinTai Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. of the National Energy Group is the first imitation ecological fish breeding and stocking station designed and built based on the achievements of artificial fish breeding technology in Xinjiang, with an annual output capacity of more than 500,000 fry.

Spotted heavy lip fish belongs to the carp family Split-bellied fish subfamily Heavy lip fish genus, in 2021 listed in the national level II protected aquatic wildlife, also known as spotted cucumber fish, local name alpine fish, flower stick, distributed in the northern Xinjiang region of the Ili River system of the Gongnais River and other waters, the Tarim River water system in southern Xinjiang Hotan River and other upstream tributaries, is the highest distribution of the autonomous region of the schizotyfish subfamily fish, up to 4200 meters.

Xinjiang naked heavy lip fish belongs to the genus of naked heavy lip fish of the subfamily Of the carp family Split-bellied fish, and was listed in the Autonomous Region's Class I Aquatic Wild Protected Animals in 2019, also known as naked cucumber fish, local name scaleless fish, small white stripe, is the most widely distributed split-bellied fish subfamily in the autonomous region, distributed in the Urumqi River, Toutun River and other waters.

Niu Jiangong said that the Xinjiang Institute of Fishery Sciences has been committed to the protection and research of Xinjiang naked heavy lip fish for more than 20 years, and has found out the resource distribution of naked heavy lip fish in Xinjiang, the age growth status of fish, in 2009 broke through the artificial breeding technology research of the fish, and since 2010, it has been distributed in the Gongnais River, Turks River and other 9 consecutive years to carry out breeding and stocking activities of more than 1 million fish, which has played a leading role in the research on the protection and utilization of schizophrenic fish in Xinjiang.

At present, Xinjiang naked heavy lip fish related research technology applications 5 patents, published more than ten scientific research academic papers, in 2012 successfully carried out scientific and technological achievements appraisal, in 2014 the relevant technical achievements will be promoted to the Ili River Basin Construction Administration and other enterprises and institutions, resulting in certain social benefits and environmental and ecological benefits, the local indigenous endemic fish protection work is outstanding, in 2016 the achievement won the third prize of the Ministry of Agriculture Academy of Water Science and Technology Progress Award.
