As one of the top prehistoric predators, the Dragon is one of the most popular creatures among ancient animals. But about Canglong, many people actually have a lot of misunderstandings, such as the concept of the name "Canglong".
Many people think that the dragon is just a kind of marine life in ancient times, but in fact, the dragon is a large family of ancient animals, and there are at least dozens of different kinds of dragons in this family (as far as the archaeological discoveries of humans are concerned).

The fossils of the first dragons were found in France, when paleontologists defined the dragons as marine reptiles like lizards. Therefore, according to this concept, paleontologists have classified many of the ancient marine reptiles discovered later under the family Diplodocus. For example, " Aclavosaurus " lived mainly in shallow seas , " Theosaurus " active in the late Cretaceous Period , " Thermososaurus " found most often in the Americas , and " Hylandosaurus " , which was able to hunt plesiosaurs standing at the top of the food chain in the late Cretaceous Period.
In the entire canglong family, Hainuolong is the largest and most powerful canglong. They were mainly active in the Maastricht order of the late Cretaceous period (about 70 million years ago to 65 million years ago), and the time span was only about five million years.
Adult heynososaurs were about nineteen meters long, and in the late Cretaceous oceans, they were predators at the top, and sword-shooting fish, chalky stingray sharks, etc. were all hunted objects of Haenopsosaurus. Even the other overlord of the ocean, the plesiosaur, was not a rival to The Helenosaurus.
In contrast, the canglong family's authentic canglong (hai nuolong belongs to a genus under the canglong family, and there is a genus below the canglong family) is actually only about ten meters long, looking more like a large crocodile. Although they are also one of the most terrifying predators in the ocean, they are inferior to Hylandosaurus.
In terms of overall morphology, the body length of the genus is shorter than that of the genus Hainosaurus, but the weight is actually not inferior. In general, the weight of a ten-meter-long canglong is about the same as a fifteen-meter-long Hyenodrosaurus. In addition, the steel knife-like teeth of the dragon can even crush the shell of the giant sea turtle in the Cretaceous era, not to mention the hunting of various marine fish at that time.
But the proliferation of the entire Dracopodae, and their apparently higher viability than other creatures, also poses very serious problems. The most immediate problem was the food problem, and later the dragon even needed to feed on many cephalopods, such as the ammonites below the cephalopods (a shallow sea creature that looked like a large snail). It is precisely because the size of the environment cannot tolerate such domineering creatures, so the existence time of the entire canglong family is actually relatively short.
Wallface thought:
Although organisms should follow the principle of "survival of the fittest", at the same time, organisms are also interdependent. Organisms at the top of the food chain who are not supported by lower-end creatures will eventually go extinct without question.
The first need of life is survival, every species has the right to ensure its own survival, for each of us, starting from ourselves, respect for life is to respect human beings themselves.
