Huaiyin black pig breeding has a long history. Huaiyin Breeding Pig Farm is the only Suhuai breeding base in China. Huaiyin Pig Breeding Farm is located in Liu Laozhuang Town, Huaiyin District, founded in 1950, is a professional pig breeding farm with a history of nearly 70 years, originally under the jurisdiction of the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department, in 2000 under the management of Liu Laozhuang Town. At present, it has 2 breeding farms in the east and west (namely Huai'an Huaiyin Xinhuai Breeding Pig Farm and Xinhuai Pig Breeding Farm), covering a total area of more than 180 acres, and the existing two pig breeding varieties of "Xinhuai Pig" and "Suhuai Pig" can supply about 4,000 Suhuai pigs and Xinhuai pig breeding pigs and 5,000 commercial pigs per year. In recent years, Huaiyin breeding farms have actively participated in poverty alleviation and agricultural assistance activities, driving about 50,000 Huaiyin black pigs to be bred around Huaiyin.
The construction of provincial-level special and excellent zones is conducive to promoting the structural reform of the agricultural supply side, improving the display and cohesion of agricultural brands, promoting the development of local industries and increasing farmers' incomes, which is of great significance to making the characteristic agricultural industry bigger and stronger, and promoting the enrichment of the industry.
