Professor Zou Minghui is a graduate of Xianning College in the class of 85. He received his Ph.D. from Pual-Sabatier R University in France and Konstanz University in Germany, and is now a member of the American Academy of Medical Sciences, the head of the Department of Vascular Biology in the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Oklahoma, and a tenured professor of cell biology, physiology and medicine. His research interests include vascular biology and pharmacology.
As of June 30, 2021, Zou Minghui has been reposted a total of 13 articles, including 9 JBC, 1 CIRCULATION (IF=24), 1 Speechs, 1 PLOS ONE, 1 JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR ENDOCRINOLOGY, the main reasons are image reuse, inappropriate tampering with data, falsification of data, Some of the original data could not be found.

Zou Minghui briefly introduced
On June 28, 2021, the article published by Zou Minghui's team in Dialoges entitled "Myeloperoxidase Deletion Prevents High-Fat Diet–Induced Obesity and Insulin Resistance" was retracted, and the retracted statement stated:
At the request of the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center (OUHSC), the article has been retracted. OuHSC's investigation into the integrity of the data provided in the article concluded that multiple Western blots were forged.
The forgery is described below:
• Figure 7G P-Akt (S473) Western blots of lanes 2 and 4 are duplicate bands shown with different treatment labels.
• The lanes 3, 6, and 7 of the P85 Western blot in Figure 7H are repeat bands shown with different treatment labels.
• Figure 7H IRS-1 Western blots are reused in the following publications[1] and shown using different processing labels in Channels 1-7 of Figure 4B IRS1.
• The first four channels of Figure 7H IRS-1 are also reused in channels 1-4 of Figure 2A IRS1 in the above publication [1].
• Lanes 1 and 4 of Figure 7G P-IRb are duplicates.
• The swimlanes 1, 3, 5 and 7 of Figure 7I 3-NT are duplicates.
The American Diabetes Association's (ADA) Ethical Science Program Team agreed with the OUHSC's investigation report and has reviewed and approved this withdrawal.

On September 25, 2020, Zou Minghui's team published a report at Circulation (IF=24) entitled "Reactive Nitrogen Species Induced by Hyperglycemia Suppresses Akt Signaling and Triggers Apoptosis by Upregulating Phosphatase PTEN ( The article on Phosphatase and Tensin Homologue Deleted on Chromosome 10) in an LKB1-Dependent Manner" was retracted, with the retraction statement stating:
The article was retracted.
Concerns were raised about the repetition and undue alteration of multiple Western blots in the following graphic panels: Figures 2B, 2D, 4A, 4B, 5A, 5D, 6B, 6D, 7G, and 7K. Circulation's editors asked the author to provide raw data. Although some data is provided, not all of it is available, so there are still multiple issues.
While the first author acknowledged inappropriate alterations to the data, he supported the results; however, out of caution, all authors retracted the article.
