According to tass news agency reported on the 28th, Lukashenko said that Poland will send Leopard tanks to crack down on illegal immigrants on the border with Belarus. Lukashenko said Belarus and Russia would respond "very strongly" to Poland's military operations but would wait a while to "warn them."

According to the Financial Times, Poland plans to send an additional 2,500 soldiers to the border with Belarus to help border guards stop the influx of illegal immigrants, which will bring the number of soldiers deployed in the region to 10,000. TASS reported that Poland will also deploy troops of the 10th Light Armored Brigade equipped with Leopard tanks in the city of Biała-Podráska, which borders Belarus.

Previously, Lukashenko had pointed out that Belarus would no longer curb the influx of illegal immigrants into EU countries because Western sanctions had left Belarus "without money and unable to do so."
