As a true literary young man who loves rock and roll and loves movies, I plan to recommend the best rock movies I have seen over the years and I think are the best in two parts. This article is basically spoiler-free, so you can watch it with confidence.
The rock movies here have to be based on rock and roll, which means that some movies, although they use rock and roll in their soundtracks and are sometimes classified as "rock movies", do not appear on my list, such as "Guess the Train" or something.
In the last issue, we recommended the popular list, and the movies on the popular list are very interesting drama films or documentaries even if they do not consider the musical elements themselves, which can be said to be an introductory "rock movie" for all ages.

And this issue of the niche list, will be relatively hardcore, some of the movies for friends who are not familiar with rock music, may be much less fun to watch the movie; and some rock fans only understand the stem, is tailored for senior people.

Sid and Nancy
Sid and Nancy
This is probably the story of one of the most legendary couples in the history of rock and roll, and with the two of them dying young, the truth of the story will remain forever in Room 100 of the Chelsea Hotel.
Needless to say, the film's actor Gary Oldman is impeccable in both appearance and acting; however, the actress who plays Nancy is obviously too healthy to be a bit of a drama, and it's hard to imagine her as a veteran and addict.

Yesterday
New Pants has a song called "Do You Remember that Movie Actor," which is almost universally recognized as a tribute to Jia Hongsheng — but the band itself denies that the song has anything to do with the movie star who was so popular in the 90s, obsessed with rock and roll, but eventually fell because of drug addiction and mental illness.
"Yesterday" is Jia Hongsheng's autobiographical film, documenting his days of madness, paranoia and hysteria, as well as his love for rock and roll, and he even imagined himself as Lennon's son. Although the relationship between "Yesterday" and rock and roll does not seem so deep, it is still a must-see movie for rock and roll youth.
But if you don't like rock 'n' roll, or if you're just a "normal person," it's just a bit of an awkward stuffy movie.

Punk dungeons
CBGB
CBGB is a club that opened in New York in the '70s, and its full name is Country Bluegrass Blues — yes, you read that right.
But along with Max's two Clubs in Kansas City, the two clubs together supported the era of the archetypal Punk, Punk, and New Wave of America.
The storyline of Punk Dungeon doesn't have too many twists and surprises, and it may not be much fun for the general audience, but for rock fans, when one legendary name after another suddenly appears on the movie screen, you can only keep "sleeping in the grooves" until the end of the movie.

96 Rock Guide
When Chen Peisi emerges with a crown, you will know that this movie is definitely not simple.
In the early 90s, Chinese rock experienced a period of explosion (not an outbreak), and suddenly the band that became popular and the capital that suddenly poured in made the Chinese rock in this period seem to become a blue ocean of "money and many people stupidly coming quickly", and "96 Rock Guide" is a spicy satire of the chaos of that year.
Finally, what is "minjin"? Folk Metal (×) Migrant Metal (√)

Hell rock of early death and early reincarnation
die young
This film is that every time you mistakenly think that "this movie was made this", all of a sudden the director gives you a Thomas back to rotate and fold, and then becomes another inexplicable thing, making you can't help but think, who is you and the director who is not normal.
But in addition to the story of "dead and dead, from hell to fight back", the Easter eggs about rock and roll in this movie are simply staggering, such as the one where the instrument store sells human hands, which is simply a dream of many people who have learned guitar:
"If only I had Jimi Hendrix's hand!!!
The four hands are directly from Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads and Stevie Ray Vaughan – grass (japanese)! Lao Tzu never dared to think like this in his dreams!

The last days
Last Days
There are too many films about Coote Corban, but most of them inevitably make the popular impression of the rock totem "Coburn", but to varying degrees.
Only the movie "The Last Days" made the living and flesh-and-blood mortal Cobain, in the last moments of his life, he fell into a confused whirlpool, doing some bits and pieces of trivia, most of the time expressionless, even the movements are slow and mechanical.
And even, you almost can't hear Nirvana's song in this movie, but it is a small song "Death To Birth" original to the movie, which is almost like it was secretly recorded from a certain demo of Cobain, so that countless people like me, after watching the movie, wanted to search for this song for the first time, only to find that it was the original track.

Metal Spirit
Anvil! The Story of Anvil
I remember watching the movie as a true metal party, but Rao was so, and the name Anvil was still unfamiliar to me—and they had played with Scorpion and Bon Jovi, and were well-deserved metal heroes of the era; their "Metal On Metal" album even laid some foundation for the genre of heavy metal.
Decades later, however, former metal heroes worked in children's catering centers, but they never gave up the metal spirit in their hearts.
So the film mainly records two things, the first is that they overcome countless difficulties and finally get to Europe for a big tour without making a dime; the second is that the lead singer borrows money everywhere, and finally borrows ten thousand pounds from his sister, who is not rich, and then records their 13th album, but no record company is even willing to release them.
This movie will make every friend who plays the band can't help but have sour eyes after seeing it, and it is destined to become the iron man tender moment of every metal music fan.

Velvet gold mine
Velvet Goldmine
The film is simply a bit like a combination of the stories of David Bowie and Iggy Pope, but for the masses, a glamorous, avant-garde, crazy bisexual rock star is crazy enough. Although the film script is designed to dig up the story of a rock star being "assassinated" from a reporter, highlighting the sense of suspense rather than the impact of the characters, it is still too heavy for the public.
The most interesting behind-the-scenes story about the film is that one of the prototypes of the film's protagonist, David Bowie himself, seems to be very unhappy with this kind of joke...

Post-revolutionary era
After entering the 21st century, the rampant piracy of music on the Internet has caused the traditional record industry to shrink, and the newly emerging Chinese rock music has naturally experienced a dimensionality reduction blow, and the final result is that Chinese rock has been forced to go underground, asking for money and no money, and no one.
"The Post-Revolutionary Era" is a documentary born in this period, which truly records how poor Chinese rock was in the underground period.
There are countless heart-wrenching moments in the movie, and for Yang Zixuan, who was playing a band at school and dreaming of rock 'n' roll when watching this movie, it was also the best dissuasive post in history. But in those who are poor and destitute, you can still see the love of rock and roll from the bones, whether it is the second table singing blindly at the door of happy paradise, or the tongue that says on the stage, "Rock and roll is not important, what is important is your own".

Labyrinth
Pink Floyd The Wall
Yes, I know "The Wall" is probably the most well-known rock movie, but... Obviously, it also has enough threshold for the public to watch movies. It's really hard for me to imagine that you would have understood the film without doing your homework beforehand, such as listening to Pink Floyd's Double Album The Wall, or reading a few reviews.
But if you build on the album, the visual film will be very helpful for you to better understand the theme of the album, and there are a few missing pieces in the film that are not included in the original album, which are also tracks that rock fans have to listen to.
To put it simply, if you haven't heard of "The Wall", it is highly recommended to watch the movie directly!!!
