In last year's hit drama "Unpleasant Fruit", Chiaki Kuriyama played a wife who cheated on her sixth year of marriage. She also challenged the role of the blonde swordsman in this year's film Infinite Dweller. The criminal investigation TV series "Legacy Search" ushered in the sixth summer since the launch of the first season this year, and Chiaki Kuriyama participated in the filming of this drama for the first time. Known as the symbol of gao leng beauty, she exudes a unique aura and has played many roles. The gesture of her work and "that masterpiece", we conducted interviews.
● Whether it is a stage play or a shooting scene, to be honest, it is still tense
You have also challenged many characters, what kind of mood do you have to work?
[Chiaki Kuriyama] Although I have played a lot of roles, to be honest, I can't enjoy it, it's more nervous. Therefore, I will do my best, face the challenge sincerely, and use all my skills. This time participating in "Legacy Search" is also, this is a very popular series, really nervous... However, everyone gathered for me, and slowly I got over it.
——You give people the impression of an awe-inspiring "high-cold beauty", and it is really surprising that they will be nervous.
Chiaki Kuriyama: Everybody says that about me (laughs). People think I feel that I have connotations, and I am very happy. In fact, it is because of nervousness that the whole person becomes very stiff.
- You are not only very powerful but also have a smooth career, why are you nervous?
[Chiaki Kuriyama] It is true that I have been engaged in this business for a long time, but I still have little self-confidence. Because I don't have self-confidence, I will be nervous. I know this very well, so I want to accumulate a lot of experience. Whether it's a good or bad experience, the more you accumulate, the more people become confident, right? Although I am an adult now, I feel that I still have to grow up a lot.
- You said you were nervous this time too. Can you tell me how you felt when you first participated in the popular TV series?
[Chiaki Kuriyama] This drama is a criminal investigation TV series. I consciously started from the perspective of the audience and carefully played the role of "Reisaki Kanzaki". This TV series can feel the heart of the person or the background of the event from the victim's relic. Or shed tears for the true feelings behind the world, or solve the mystery of the event through clues, this drama has two major elements of ethical drama and criminal investigation drama, which is also the charm.
--------------------------------- What kind of role is it?
[Chiaki Kuriyama] A very serious criminal policeman. It's in stark contrast to the eccentric Itomura criminal. In order to solve the case, Kanzaki Reissio can work twice as seriously as others. And we must not simply show her as a "strong woman". I wanted to create a character who hated both the crime and the gentle side of the victim.

[Chiaki Kuriyama] Relics are "objects", but they are also important emotions for the deceased. It is precisely because human emotions can reside above "objects" that they constitute the main line of this drama. Thinking of it this way, the items that I usually take for granted must also be cherished.
● I want to one day be able to hold my head high and say, "I'm happy to be an actor because I'm happy."
You showed off your acting skills in your 10s in the Hollywood blockbuster Kill Bill Vol. 1. I personally would very much like to see you appear in Hollywood again.
【Chiaki Kuriyama】This... I don't speak English well, and I prefer Japanese food, so I don't have the heart to enter Hollywood... (Wryly). When I was shooting Kill Bill, I didn't understand the situation, and I was just thinking "Great!" You can go to Los Angeles! (Laughs). If I were asked to work abroad now, I would be grateful and the pressure would be great. Therefore, it is necessary to do a good job of enlightenment accordingly (laughs).
──What kind of work do you want to try in the future?
[Chiaki Kuriyama] In the field of acting, the more knowledge you learn or the field you are good at, the wider your play path will be. Accumulate a variety of experience, and take the initiative to challenge things that are of interest. No matter what happens, I want to try whenever I have the chance. I am now preparing for the rainy day, saving up my strength for the coming of that moment.
--Regarding you personally, after the age of 30, has there been any change in your "view of marriage"?
[Chiaki Kuriyama] When I get married, when I reach the age of 30, someone will definitely ask "Do you want to get married?", I am not at all. I feel like when I want to get married, it's when I should get married. Some people around me have asked me "am I married" (laughs), and I am now living well with my parents and pets, and I don't feel the need to get married for the sake of getting married.
WHAT KIND OF ACTRESS DO YOU WANT TO BE IN THE FUTURE?
For example, there are many actresses in their 60s who have a lot of experience and enjoy life, which impresses me. If one day, I can do the same. Instead of treating acting as a job, I think one day I can hold my head high and say, "I'm an actor because I'm happy."
