The Disaster of the Six Horses of Zhaoling

The Six Horses of Zhaoling were the six warhorses that accompanied Tang Taizong Li Shimin throughout his life on the battlefield, charged into battle, and helped him escape from danger again and again. They have made great contributions to half of the Tang Dynasty, and their contributions are indispensable.

Zhaoling Liujun is a six-piece stone carving in the tomb of Emperor Taizong of Tang, which is a relief of liujun engraved on a stone screen by the famous painter Yan Liben of the Tang Dynasty and engraved by the sculptor Yan Lide on the altar of Zhaoling.

Purple Swallow Super Leap, Bone Teng Shen Jun.

Qi Qi Three Rivers, Wei Ling Eight Arrays.

——Li Shimin inscribed Lu Luzi

Qiu Xinggong, one of Tang Taizong's regular attendants, when he saw that Tang Taizong and his mount Salu Zi were in danger of being in a rain of arrows, in order to protect Tang Taizong's evacuation, he rode the seriously injured Sa Lu Zi out of the siege and protected Tang Taizong, but Sa Lu Zi eventually fell to the ground due to his serious injuries and died.

In order to praise Qiu Xinggong for his battle exploits of fighting to the death, Tang Taizong specially ordered him to draw an arrow on a stone screen and inscribed the above poem.

Qiu Xinggong in the stone carving bowed his head and drew arrows, and "Salu Zi" had his eyes downcast and his attitude was very respectful, one man and one horse snuggled tightly, and the moment when the general and the god colt were emotionally intertwined was firmly fixed on the stone screen. Salu Zi is also the only war horse to be accompanied, and behind this stone carving is the loyalty and bravery, but also the humility and tragedy.

However, it is such a precious stone sculpture that it does not accompany the owner well.

Lu Qinzhai, a notorious cultural relics dealer dressed in the guise of spreading oriental culture, has sold many Chinese national treasure-level cultural relics abroad, including the "Salu Purple" and "Fist Hair" in the "Zhaoling Liujun".

She was taken out of the country on loan and sold by Lu Qinzhai to the University of Pennsylvania Museum for almost half of Beijing at the time ($125,000). Since then, "Salu Zi" and "Fist Hair" have left their hometowns and drifted overseas, until today.

The remaining four horses of the Zhaoling Liujun were also almost transferred abroad, and it was a very patriotic horse shopkeeper father and son and a group of patriots who, under the supervision of bi Shibo, an American cultural relics dealer, cleverly took the opportunity to transport supplies to drop the bag, replaced the Zhaoling Sijun with a pile of fragments of stone tablets, and sank the real four juns into the water and escaped the disaster.

When the proud American cultural relics dealer Bi Shibo happily accepted the medal, four heavy boxes were opened, and everyone present was stunned.

This is really:

Thieves are too rampant, and the six horses are suffering.

The whole people gather love, and the four jun insurance remains.

Although the Six Juns of Zhaoling were full of holes and difficult to gather, after all, they were all preserved.

After the founding of New China, the four horses of Zhaoling were displayed in the Forest of Steles in Xi'an, and cultural relics workers also copied the images of "Salu Zi" and "Fist Hair" to reunite them.

In May 2010, Ms. Zhou Ping, a volunteer for the restoration of cultural relics in Xi'an, and three others went to the University of Pennsylvania Museum in the United States to carry out the restoration work of Zhaoling Erjun for many years, and still clearly remember Ms. Zhou Ping's vivid story of herself and her partner in the "National Treasure Archives" zhaoling six jun, telling the story of her and her partner's restoration of salu purple and fist hair. I also look forward to our Erjun returning to its homeland, to its owner's side, to its companions.

With the passage of time, the "Zhaoling Liujun" has experienced glory and vicissitudes, and their names have been closely linked to the name of Tang Taizong.

Nowadays, when you walk in the territory of Liquan, the streets of Liquan are full of the cool and heroic posture of Liu Jun, and these Huma accompanied the master's southern conquest and northern war, invincible. Tang Taizong erected a monument to the warhorse, which showed his military merit and also reflected his emphasis on "martial arts".

Mr. Lu Xun said of the "Six Horses of Zhaoling": "Most of the stone beasts in front of the tombs of the Han people are sheep, tigers, tianlu, and warding off evil spirits, but on the Zhaoling tombs in Chang'an, there are horses with arrows carved, and their methods are simply unprecedented." ”

The founder of a prosperous world, who used the war horse as a companion at the end of his life, shows his bravery and courage.

The establishment of the Zhaoling Liujun and the Tang Dynasty is not unrelated to them. They are the witnesses, participants, witnesses and recorders of the prosperous era of Datang, and they record the heroic and majestic history and glory of Datang.
