On September 25-26, 2021, the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the China Electrotechnical Society and the 16th Annual Conference of the China Electrotechnical Society were held in Beijing Convention Center. Professor Ma Guoming of North China Electric Power University was invited to give a special report on "Research on Multi-State Parametric Optical Fiber Sensing Method of Transformer" at the special meeting of "Intelligent Perception and Intelligent Terminal of Electrical Equipment" at the annual meeting. Ma Guoming, professor of North China Electric Power University, doctoral supervisor, IEEE Senior member, mainly to carry out advanced sensing and diagnostic research on electrical equipment, has presided over 3 national natural science foundations, published more than 60 SCI papers, authorized more than 30 national invention patents, and the research results have been applied in China's UHV transmission project for many times. The research achievements have won 2 first prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels, 1 second prize and 1 third prize. He was selected into the "Young Talents Lifting Project" of the China Association for Science and Technology, won the "China Electric Power Outstanding Young Engineer Award", and was funded by the "Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Young Teachers Fund for Colleges and Universities".

The problem of safe operation of the transformer is prominent, and only by comprehensively, timely and accurately sensing and mastering the key parameters inside the transformer can the internal state of the transformer be judged and accidents prevented. How to measure the spatial-temporal distribution of internal multiphysics in high voltage, strong magnetic field, and high temperature environment is a challenge.

Research experience: 1) refine the research objectives from the field needs, and develop sensors with comprehensive and balanced performance; 2) start from the bottom as much as possible to solve the special needs of power grid equipment sensing; 3) multi-disciplinary cross-integration, actively learn knowledge in other fields; 4) carry out the teaching of basic optical courses, teaching each other; 5) strengthen school-enterprise cooperation and accelerate the landing of results.
