Pandora's Box: Essentially okay, but vicious bugs ruin everything

preface

(Spoilers)

This game is an FPS game developed by Spark Unlimited. The studio's products are mainly shooters, but all the works are not uncomfortable. Such as the scolded version of this game, as well as the lost planet 3 responsible for outsourcing production, and the final sequel ninja gaiden Z, are representative failures. The subsequent dissolution of the studio in 2015 was not unexpected.

introduce

This is charles Deckard, the featureless protagonist of the game, hired by the mysterious organization Black Order to steal the contents of Pandora's Box at the New York Museum. Opening according to the instructions, in addition to releasing the doomsday, he also imprinted a mark on his hand.

With the opening of Pandora's Box, the earth collapses and mythical creatures continue to appear, gradually destroying human civilization. I have to say that the cutscenes of this work are still quite wonderful, and all kinds of large scenes and atmospheres are quite immersive. However, no amount of cutscene can save the game.

Imprint, like other works, always has to have a special king power. But this game is designed... It's not bad, it's boring. After absorbing the energy of Theimus, all that can be done is to replenish blood, and to emit two kinds of shock waves that are painless and itchy, and can only be used to make invisible monsters appear and break doors.

enemy

The Flame Beast will roll forward, seemingly close to the body, but in fact, it mainly relies on spitting fireballs to attack. The body is like cooling lava, usually very hard, and will only soften when it is about to attack. Flame beasts will continue to emerge from the nest infinitely, and it is necessary to use fire water to extinguish the nest to stop it. The shock wave with the imprint can actually soften, but the duration is very short, so it is better to keep the blood.

Werewolves are the main enemy of the game, and there are three types of light forms. However, Alpha Werewolf and Phantom Werewolf are actually just relatively hard, and they will be invisible, and the combat experience has not changed much. The werewolves in this game are not strong, but they need to be headshots to really kill, otherwise they will be resurrected indefinitely. The enemy configuration of this game is basically to be indecisive and release werewolves. To solve the puzzle to find a way to put a werewolf that will refresh infinitely is disgusting enough.

The medium-sized enemy Minotaur will only rampage without threat. When you first appear, you will feel incredibly hard, bullet grenades are enough to pick up guns everywhere. Although there are two at a time in the back, the gun is also stronger and better to kill.

Griffin War is the most exciting BOSS battle in this game, and I have challenged it several times. There was also a black brother in the front cutscene who would immediately receive a bento when he watched, and sure enough, he was immediately eaten when the fight began. Although there seemed to be many obstacles to hide, the griffins immediately crashed into them as soon as they chased them. And he was sticky tightly, and finally he could only spray the pool in a circle, and from time to time he would turn around and shoot a few shots to see when he fell, and at the same time, he had to pay attention to the low amount of blood to make up. I've died here many times. At this time, I found that even if I saw the cutscene, I could not skip it, and it was a waste of time to rewatch it every time.

The big boss is visually stunning, but it's a fight... It was boring. The New York Colossus Battle devised an entire level in which the protagonist Deckard pumped energy to activate EMP to stop the Colossus' activity. Basically there is no direct confrontation, all are playing miscellaneous fish.

London's sea monster Kraken is a head-to-head duel, but he directly designs a supply point that will regenerate bazooka infinitely. Just the location is farthest from the BOSS, and there are no mobs to mess around. The whole game is directly standing on the bazooka and shooting comfortably to the end.

scenario

Thanks to Unreal Engine 3, this game is remarkable in terms of graphics presentation, and the atmosphere creation can also be regarded as a set. New York, which encountered the end of the first half, came to the classical style of European cities in the middle of the period, and the eerie atmosphere is a horror game.

tale

After The Black Order opened Pandora's Box, he immediately crossed the river and demolished the bridge to kill Deckard. When fighting them, not only does it not have Animus energy to suck up blood, but the firepower it carries is also very powerful.

Fortunately, however, we also have a Council of 98 organization that claims to be the Guardians of Humanity and is able to confront The Black Order. They were also the first organization to hide Pandora's Box. In fact, Black Order was split from them. In the game, we will have a long time to fight with a large army instead of fighting alone.

Vivian Kane is a correspondent positioner and also serves as a cutscene narrator. Originally recruited into the Black Order, they are met with Deckard for knowing too much about the inside story and are prepared to be eliminated together, so the two have to escape together. Finally, witness deckard at the beginning and end of this event.

LeFey, the boss behind the Black Order. The look of suits and shoes, honestly, looks like a big consortium with private armed forces, not a dark organization with a spiritual fanatic. The ultimate goal is to use Pandora's Box to control creatures all over the world (in a destroyed world), although I don't know why I do this or what I want to do it. The game does not feel what he has in mind, and captures Vivian not to kill her, asking her to witness the success of her plan, a whole smell of small things.

The operation, sensitivity, boredom of this game... etc., are small problems. The biggest problem is that there is a vicious bug that will make the player ready to take the elevator to the final level and fall out of the map, locking 30 frames or something is useless to me. Finally found a way to fly directly to the elevator exit with the control panel command to finally pass the customs smoothly.

After the overload machine blew up Pandora's Box, council of 98 revealed their other side. In order to reforge Pandora's Box with the Imprint, they turned around and imprisoned Deckard. However, he then escapes, and finally discovers that he has the power to manipulate mythical creatures. It's a shame that this is not shown in the game.

epilogue

This work is a decent work for me, but he does not make people ignore the highlights of his shortcomings. First of all, the name alone is not unique enough, and it has to be specially added to the game to search. Then there are no characteristics of the protagonist, art, super powers, and guns, and it just happens to coincide with the era of frequent shooting game gods. This kind of "OK" is equivalent to completely not working, and the small problems are constantly not to mention the vicious BUG. Even if there are two games out of the back before they go out of business, they don't want to go back to fixing it.

Probably because I had seen the entity on the shelf and thought about playing but didn't buy it for a long time, I would go back to play because of nostalgia. Now, it's not impossible to play. The operation can be slightly tolerated, and the sensitivity adjustment is not a big problem. But if the final bug can't be solved on its own, then don't touch it.
