Recently, a cow and its cubs on fire, a nature reserve staff in Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, when sorting out the infrared camera, found a very strong bison, leisurely through the forest, followed by a small yellow cowboy, this big and small two cows are not ordinary cows, they are the country's first-class protected animals Asian bison.

Asian bison is one of the largest cattle in the world, the whole body in addition to the head, horns, limbs are white, the rest is all black, because the limbs and body black and white, so this cow is called white-limbed bison, bison, white socks cattle, etc., of course, it also has a common name is the Indian bison.
Many people wonder how the cattle found in China are called Indian bison, in fact, this Indian bison is not unique to China, it is mainly distributed in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and in China, it is mainly distributed in Xishuangbanna, Pu'er and other places in Yunnan Province in the southwest region.
Among them, located in Pu'er City, Naozhadu Provincial Nature Reserve, is one of the main habitats of Indian bison in China, in order to provide a good habitat environment for more than 20 Indian bison here, the reserve has established a food source base of more than 1,000 mu with palm leaf reeds, corn, etc. as the main plants, and also specially built artificial nitrate ponds to meet the food needs of Indian bison and supplement salt.
In addition to being "different" in appearance, what else is special about the Indian bison?
From the perspective of body size, the Indian bison is about 2.5 meters to 3.3 meters long, about 2 meters high, usually weighing about 800 kilograms, but some adult males can reach 2.2 meters shoulder height and weigh up to 1.5 tons, which is the largest existing cattle in the world, larger than the African bison, and can be called the "cow devil". If you only look at the numbers without a concept, you can refer to the picture to feel the majesty of the Indian cow.
Indian bison also has a very magical place, that is, the coat color will change with age, the cub is generally light brown, and when it becomes an adult, it will slowly turn black or dark brown, but the limbs of the Indian bison, whether cubs or adults, are white, like wearing a pair of white stockings.
And although indian bison have sociality, but in general, the group is mostly female and cub, adult males generally prefer to roost alone, only in the breeding season will contact females, here have to sigh a indian bison male indifference, selfishness. When the females and cubs living in the group are attacked dangerously, they will quickly escape, don't look at their large size, the escape is still very fast, and the leading female will stop if she runs too fast, etc., to ensure that everyone follows up with them before moving forward together, quite responsible.
However, although the male Indian bison is not very responsible, but because of the large size of this species, so even if they "live alone", they are almost no natural enemies, and the adult Indian bison can compete with the Bengal tiger, of course, the most dangerous natural enemy may be humans, human influence on the natural environment has greatly reduced the habitat of Indian bison, resulting in its endangerment. According to statistics, at the end of the 1980s, there were still thousands of such bison in Yunnan, and by 2013, the entire Yunnan was conservatively estimated to be about 150, and the current population is less than 200.
Nowadays, the Indian bison is captured by the infrared camera, which is enough to show that the results of China's natural ecological protection, many people see the Indian bison, in addition to surprises, there are many ideas, the bison with the whole body tendon meat, a look is the best beef product, for some people known as "foodies", it is inevitable that there is an impulse to bring this animal to the table, so many netizens have said that whether they can be domesticated artificially, or hybridized with domesticated cattle, can not waste such a good gene in vain.
From the perspective of habitat, Indian bison mainly live along the low-heat river in the tropical and south Asian tropical primeval evergreen broad-leaved forest areas below 2000 meters above sea level, far from human communities, if humans want to domesticate, can the site be suitable for the environment in which Indian bison live? And such a large bison, there is also a characteristic of the grumpy, tigers do not dare to easily provoke the species, humans want to domesticate may not be so simple.
Of course, the most important point is that how can this endangered species of "national treasure" be domesticated privately?
Leaving aside the above reasons, there is no experiment on whether the Indian bison can hybridize, but you can refer to the Belgian blue bull.
Belgian blue bull size can be said to be more than the Indian bison, adult Belgian blue bull up to 3 tons of weight, but also a body of tendon meat, but the Belgian blue bull is not as tall as the Indian bison, such a large weight, but it is a small body, its height is generally less than 1.5 meters, but the small body can not support the developed muscles, the Belgian blue bull can be said to be the stronger the more painful.
Belgian blue cattle is the product of hybridization, the origin of the Belgian blue bull and ordinary cattle is no different, and later with the British shorthorn cattle hybridization to breed this artificial cattle, this cow is actually a sick cow, is a genetic defect disease, but human beings in order to get more beef, the use of directional reproduction methods to preserve the "supreme treasure" of the cattle world.
In addition to facing the pain of the skeleton can not support the muscles, but also face the pain of not being able to produce normally, the huge muscles are narrow pelvis, so the female Belgian Blue Bull has to be cut through the abdomen for a lifetime, as many as ten times, and its pain can be imagined. Moreover, the cubs of the Belgian Blue Bull also have various congenital diseases, such as heart and lungs, bones, etc., and it can be said that they have begun to suffer various pains at birth.
Therefore, with the experience of the Belgian Blue Bull, it may not be so easy to cross indian bison. From the perspective of reverence for life, although some animals are indeed the source of high-quality animal protein for human beings, and are domesticated by humans as a source of flesh, it is not advisable for human beings to suffer terrible injuries or pain for their own appetites. For example, some diseases or viruses that appear, including SARS, ape foam virus, AIDS, etc., are not caused by human appetite?
In short, to be kind to wild animals is to be kind to human beings themselves!
