According to the instructions released by the Yunnan Pu'er Conservation Center, it is pointed out that "the infrared camera for the first time photographed the Indian bison cubs of the national key protected animals", and the Indian bison is what we call the wild yellow cow, white socks, Asian bison, etc., in fact, its scientific name is "white-limbed bison", which is the largest cattle in the world. In scientific records, adult male bison can weigh up to 1 and a half tons, that is, the maximum weight can reach 1.5 tons, so it is very heavy.
The body length of the entire "white-limbed bison" can reach about 3 meters, in addition to the maximum of 1.5 tons, the weight of normal white-limbed bison is about 800 kilograms, so it is not low. Most of the bison's body hair is tan, which also looks "bare" and white from the knees of the limbs, so this is one of the reasons why it is called "white socks", because the creature's four legs are like wearing "socks".
This species belongs to the tropical population, which is only distributed in the southern and southwestern regions of Yunnan in China, and is mainly concentrated in Southeast Asia, India and other places. Therefore, the level of protection in China is also relatively high, belonging to the first-class, endangered species. According to the data released in 2021, the population adds up to less than 200 head, so it is very scarce, and it may be even less in our country, which is the case of white-limbed bison.

This may also be the second time since 2021 that China has found footprints of white-limbed bison in Yunnan, and the last time a "white-limbed bison" was found was in the Xishuangbanna area.
According to the researchers, from the footage, we can see that a large adult "Indian bison" (white-limbed bison) is passing through a forest, followed by a cub with yellow hair. At the same time, through the observation of this cow, it was found that there was blood on its buttocks and high alertness, and the calf was found the next day, which inferred that the calf's birth date was around July 20, so it is indicated that the "white-limbed bison" survived in this area and bred calves.
Of course, this discovery may provide an important construction basis for the living conditions of the "white-limbed bison" in the future, and the survey data in 2018 shows that there are about 27 Indian bison active in the region, and now we have seen the emergence of new "white-limbed bison", which also shows that the population can basically be locked in and expanded.
So when you see this species, try to stay away, don't get close, "white-limbed bison" is very protective. At the same time, many people may see the bison, the "saliva" is flowing, because the "meat looks very good" and the cow is really strong, which may be one of the reasons for the previous reduction of the species population.

According to the data, in 1979, China found 33 bison poaching in Xishuangbanna, and 39 were poached from 1980 to 1983, and now it can be said that it has been controlled.
So, we can see it in our field of vision now, but since the population is less than 200, it needs to be protected. In addition to the decline and disappearance of the number caused by hunting and killing, the destruction and deterioration of habitats, resulting in the shrinking and disappearance of habitats, etc., are also the reasons for the decline of this species population. So there are many factors that affect it.
Of course, the good news here is that in the protected area found, China has built more than 1,000 acres of food source base for Indian bison (white-limbed bison), mainly planting palm leaf reeds, corn, etc., to meet its habitat requirements, so they can completely settle in the area and slowly expand the population, which is the general situation.
