At that time, the 58-year-old Guo Ziyi was still guarding filial piety at home, and in order to quell the rebellion, the imperial court ordered Guo Ziyi to "seize the affection" and change to the deputy envoy of Shuofang Jiedu and lead an army to attack An Lushan. At that time, the Tang Dynasty generals were beaten to the ground by the rebels, and only Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi won consecutive victories. After Emperor Suzong of Tang ascended the throne, Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi were reused and became the main force in the crusade against the rebels, and Guo Ziyi played a decisive role in the process of recovering the two capitals.
In the years of conquest, Guo Ziyi ruled the army strictly, obeying both the top and the bottom, and if there was a rebellion everywhere, as long as Guo Ziyi came out, he could always be quickly quelled. After Emperor Tang ascended the throne, Guo Ziyi gradually became old, because the merit was too high, many people worried that Guo Ziyi would face the fate that the ancient famous generals could not get rid of - gong gao zhen lord. ‘
Because the credit is too great, Guo Ziyi has indeed been framed many times, and was once dismissed from the post of deputy marshal. In desperation, Guo Ziyi showed all the edicts given to him by Tang Suzong to Emperor Tang, and Emperor Tang gradually believed in Guo Ziyi's loyalty. Even so, Guo Ziyi was also cautious above the court, from the emperor down to the hundred officials, they all felt that although Guo Ziyi was highly skilled, he had no superior posture, and no one was dissatisfied.
In order not to let the emperor suspect, Guo Ziyi opened the door of his home to the outside world every day, whether it was the people or the small officials of the yamen, they could enter his courtyard at will.
In addition to being open-minded, Guo Ziyi is also good at "self-defilement", he learned from Xiao He, a famous minister in the early Han Dynasty, and drank and entertained at home with his maid Concubine Ji all day, and if there was an official visit, Guo Ziyi always took these maids to entertain officials together, giving people the impression of having no ambition.
Guo Ziyi always brought a maid to entertain guests, but there was one person, he did not dare to let the maid entertain, this person was the prime minister Lu Qi. History:

One day, when The Prime Minister Lu Qi came to Guo Ziyi's mansion as a guest, Guo Ziyi heard that Lu Ziyi was coming, and quickly hid the maids and concubines behind the tent, and ordered them not to come out privately. Others do not understand Guo Ziyi's style.
It turned out that Lu Qi was a famous adulterer of the Tang Dynasty, he was narrow-minded, jealous of his ability, and attacked dissidents, and he was a complete villain. Lu Qi also has a characteristic, that is, his appearance is ugly, the Old Book of Tang once said that he was "ugly and blue, and everyone looks at it", you can imagine what kind of appearance this is. Guo Ziyi received other officials with maids, so why did she deliberately hide the maids when she received Lu Qi? Guo Ziyi explained:
"Ugly looks, women see it, may not not laugh." He is a great success, and I belong to the category of no-nonsense! ”
Meaning: Lu Qi was ugly in appearance, and if the maids saw him, they would definitely laugh out loud. Lu Qi knew that he was ridiculed by the people in our house, so our whole family would not be able to survive.
Hearing Guo Ziyi's explanation, everyone could not help but sigh: Guo Ziyi's emotional intelligence is really high!
Of course, in the identity of Guo Ziyi, even if the maids really laughed at Lu Qi, Lu Qi was not necessarily capable of destroying Guo Ziyi. Guo Ziyi did this, in addition to his caution, the more important reason is that Guo Ziyi does not want to offend the villain!
In fact, Guo Ziyi's trick seems to be very clever, 800 years ago, someone used the same strategy, this person is Ji Dian.
During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Ji Dian was a high-ranking official in the imperial court, at this time, another traitorous minister, Zhou Yangyu, served as a county guard, and Zhou Yang yu was the uncle of the King of Huainan, and he was usually very stubborn, although the official position was not high, but he was usually very rude to Ji Dian. Some people advised Ji Yan to come forward to balance Zhou Yangyu, but Ji Yan refused to come forward, and every time he avoided Zhou Yangyu from a distance.
The reason why Ji Dian wanted to avoid Zhou Yangyu was not because he was afraid of him, but because he didn't want to have anything to do with him. Later, he and Hedong Taishou Shen Tugong wrote a letter to impeach Zhou Yangyou, and eventually zhou Yangyu retaliated, and both jade was burned. Because ji yan was far away from Zhou Yangyu, he was finally safe and sound.

The scholar is unfortunate to be the same official as this generation, and he is inferior and avoids it, but it is not a bad thing, and he is humiliated by himself compared with it!
This means that the scholar and the villain are officials in the same dynasty, and they should avoid him far away, which is the best policy. If you fight with the villain endlessly, you will eventually be humiliated.
Guo Ziyi is good at self-preservation and is his wisdom. In fact, these wisdoms of Guo Ziyi are all based on the experience of predecessors. Guo Ziyi treats guests with maids, which is to learn the wisdom of Xiao He; Guo Ziyi hides maids to entertain Lu Qi, which is to learn the wisdom of Ji Di. Therefore, Guo Ziyi is the master of wisdom.
