When I was 16 years old (1965), I graduated from junior high school and took the middle school entrance examination, and was admitted to a provincial and ministerial secondary school in a provincial city, Shijiazhuang Railway Driver School. In September of that year, I left my hometown and came to the provincial capital and began a four-year study life in the provincial city. During my time in the provincial city, there were many interesting stories that left good memories, and I would like to write it down.
Fourth, the pocket is shy
There is also a problem that plagues us students from the countryside, because the family's economic income is limited, so the pockets are shy.
Because we come from the countryside, our parents are farmers, and the family income has no other economic resources except farming, so usually we have no pocket money and live very frugally. Except for study utensils and daily necessities such as toothpaste and soap, there is no other pocket money at all. Usually, there is no money to buy new clothes, and there is no money to buy snacks. This is probably one of the reasons why urban students look down on rural students.
I remember once, the school organized to watch a movie, as if the name of the film was "The Adventure of the Magician", which was a three-dimensional movie. Usually, the school organizes movies, and the student tickets are 5 cents, but this time because it is a stereoscopic movie, the ticket price is four times that of the usual - two cents. It was these two cents that made it difficult for us rural students. Two cents may be a piece of cake for urban students, but because we are shy and our pockets are empty, we have to give up this opportunity to watch stereoscopic movies. When I came back from watching the movie, the students in the city told us about the magic of the stereoscopic movie, and it was obviously with a disdainful look, and my soul seemed to be insulted, and I turned away in anger, too lazy to listen to them.
Every Sunday on the street, the students in the city often buy a lot of snacks to eat because of their better family conditions, and sometimes bring them back to the dormitory to eat. Students from the countryside do not have this condition, there is no spare money in their pockets, they can only watch others eat with relish, and their hearts are very unpleasant, and they have a feeling of "dwarf cutting". Originally, I saw the idiom of "people are poor and short, horses are thin and long" in the book, and I did not understand it very well, but now I feel that it is not without a little reason. Later, I simply stopped going to the street on Sundays, went to the library to borrow a few books to lock myself in the classroom, went to books to find fun, went to books to travel, and appreciated and appreciated the joy of literature and art. Although this is also a good way to kill time and distract emotions, it was really out of helplessness at that time! Although I have not found any "thousand cups of millet", "golden house" and "Yan Ruyu" in the book, reading more books always feel bright in my heart, full of spirit, broadening my horizons, and increasing my knowledge, which is always a beneficial thing! Many tomes of novels were read at that time, such as "Fire King Kong", "Lin Hai Snow Field", "Song of Youth", "Bitter Cauliflower", "Spring Flower", "Behind enemy lines", "WildFlower Spring Wind Fighting Ancient City", as well as "Red and Black", "Jane Eyre", "Les Misérables", "Quiet Don", "Anna Karenina", "How Steel is Made" and so on.
