According to a complaint filed Thursday in manhattan's Supreme Court, Susan Kryhoski, 40, claimed that anorexia specialist Joseph Silverman sexually assaulted her multiple times during her two-month hospital stay at New York-Presbyterian Infant Hospital in 1992.

Krehossky was living in New Jersey at the time, in sixth grade, weighing just 86 pounds and "suffering" from eating disorders.

The court documents say Krehosky said the doctor told her he "needed to examine her uterus to make sure she was able to have children" and then he "continued to examine her genitals" while her mother was sitting outside the examination room. Later, the doctor told Krehossky's mother that she needed to be hospitalized immediately.

During Krehosky's hospital stay, she was placed in a room at the end of the hall — far from other anorexia patients — where she had "almost no contact with the outside world." She was only allowed to talk to her parents for five minutes a day and only saw them once a week for an hour at a time. The lawsuit alleges that Krehosky was monitored by staff every time he came into contact with his parents.

The court documents said Krehosky's condition was "barely treated" and noted that although she suffered from an eating disorder, she was given the same food as other patients.

When Silverman was sexually assaulted, he would first force the nurse to leave the room and close the door, then tell the little girl he needed to "examine the inside of her body," court documents said. Silverman also threatened that if Krehoski told anyone about it, he would "hospitalize her indefinitely."

However, Krehosky's parents eventually took her from the hospital, upset that they could barely see their daughter.

The hospital was later renamed Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, and the doctor involved, Silverman, had died.

"Silverman's shameful and insulting behavior caused lifelong harm to Klekhovsky," the court documents said. The lawsuit, which pits the hospital as defendant, claims nurses and staff turned a blind eye to what happened. The indictment alleges that hospital staff "knew or should have known about Silverman's actions." Krehossky is seeking compensation, the exact amount of which is unknown.
