Demystify the routine behind the live PK: the audience spends 13,000 yuan to send gifts, and the "trust" only costs 1.3 yuan

In the live broadcast room, the good-looking female anchor is interacting with the audience, saying from time to time that she is going to lose, hoping that the audience can tip more. Wang looked at the WeChat that the favorite female anchor on the mobile phone kept sending, thinking about the promise given by the other party to win the game with other female anchors to "run" (referring to the online dating between the two parties to start offline dating), gritted his teeth, recharged 12,000 yuan, and exchanged 120,000 yuan for the currency "diamond" used in the live broadcast room. However, the female anchor "Shanshan" supported by Wang Mou still lost the game.

On this live broadcast platform called "Entertainment TV", similar scenes are staged almost every day. What Wang mou did not know was that behind this was a scam conspired by the platform and the live broadcast guild. When he was exchanging RMB for "diamonds" in a ratio of 1 to 10, the "trust" arranged by the live broadcast guild was exchanging "diamonds" in a ratio of 1:100,000 through the special account provided by the platform. The disparity in the exchange ratio can not only stimulate the audience to continue to tip, but also control the outcome of the game, so that the female anchors supported by the audience continue to lose the game.

However, acts such as platforms and live broadcast guilds have also been suspected of violating the law. Recently, the company behind "Huanyu TV" and more than 30 live broadcast guilds with a total of 157 criminal suspects were arrested by the Shanghai Pudong New Area People's Procuratorate for suspected fraud.

At a time when online live broadcasting and tipping are becoming more and more popular, this also gives all platforms a wake-up call, and similar "little smart" is not advisable.

Use emotional words to trick the victim into recharging

In March this year, Wang, who was nearly forty years old, met a woman through the "Exploration" software, and it was not long before the woman introduced her girlfriend Shanshan to Wang. The more Wang and Shanshan talked, the more speculative they became, and the two gradually developed into a very ambiguous relationship. At this time, Wang learned that Shanshan is now a female anchor, and often has to play PK matches with other female anchors, and can only get rewards after winning. Shanshan told Wang that if she won the game, she could date him offline.

At Shanshan's invitation, Wang registered and logged in to the "Huanyu TV", and sure enough, at the good time, he saw a woman with a good face appear in the live broadcast room. This side is still live broadcasting, Wang Mou has already received a message from Shanshan, asking him to send some gifts quickly to show support. Shanshan also said that she hid her mobile phone outside the live camera and secretly asked him for help. At this time, there are still about 10 people in the live broadcast room are watching, Wang Mou looked at it for a moment, and found that the live broadcast room has a variety of gifts of different prices, the cheapest "lollipop" needs 10 "diamonds" to be exchanged, equivalent to 1 yuan, and the most expensive "happiness ferris wheel" needs 130,000 "diamonds", equivalent to 13,000 yuan.

Chat history between the "keyboardist" and the victim, as well as the victim's recharge record

Seeing that other people in the live broadcast room are also constantly sending gifts to Shanshan, but still lagging behind Shanshan's competitors, Wang Mou also recharged his value and frantically gave Shanshan "tips". However, in several live broadcasts watched by Wang, Shanshan, without exception, lost the game, and the promise of "running now" has not been fulfilled. By the end of April, Wang had accumulated 29,000 yuan, all spent in Shanshan's live broadcast room, but he suddenly lost contact with Shanshan. Until the police contacted Wang, he did not know that the live broadcast guild where Shanshan was located had all been arrested by the police for suspected fraud.

In the online live broadcasting industry, the live broadcast guild is equivalent to the anchor's brokerage company, a live broadcast platform, often there are multiple guilds settled, the relationship between them is a bit like an online store and an e-commerce platform. Shanshan's live broadcast guild has only one female anchor, but there are many male "keyboard players". Usually, the task of these "keyboard players" is to wear the heads of beautiful women, play the role of pre-set people on various social software, and chat with other men in the name of "falling in love". In fact, these chats are just some emotional fraud words, and the police have searched out a large number of scripts such as "emotional exchange words", "daily words for the han", "how to pick up the little brother" and so on from the location of these guilds.

One of the "tricks" used by the fraud gang

When the time is ripe, the "keyboard player" will throw out the identity of the female anchor, tell the victim guild to ask them to participate in the PK game, complete certain indicators, and be punished if they lose, and lure these men to watch and tip in the live broadcast room. In order to better stimulate them, "keyboardists" sometimes use the temptation of "winning to meet offline". In order to prevent the live broadcast from revealing the stuffing, the guild requires that the female anchor's mobile phone or hands cannot appear in front of the camera at the same time, so that while the live broadcast, the "keyboard player" can continue to chat with the victim, so that each victim has the illusion that the female anchor is chatting with them privately.

With different recharge ratios, the victim will never win

In this case, not only were more than 30 guilds stationed on the live broadcasting platform arrested, but the operating company of the platform itself was also "one pot end". The problem is the "backdoor" that the platform sets for the guild.

"Some guilds have only one female anchor, and if you want to engage in PK, you have to borrow female anchors from other guilds." At this time, they will discuss winning or losing in advance, for example, the party who agreed to meet offline cannot win. Yang Xiaobo, procurator of the Second Procuratorial Department of the Pudong Procuratorate, who undertook the case, said that in order to be able to stabilize the control of winning and losing, the platform will provide all guilds with a dedicated recharge account, through which the guild can exchange "diamonds" with a ratio of 1:10,000. If you count the after-the-fact platform returns 90% of the recharge amount to the guild, the actual exchange ratio of the guild reaches 1:100,000. In other words, the victim needs to spend 13,000 yuan to give away a "happiness ferris wheel", and the guild only needs to spend 1.3 yuan.

How can the victim win with a 10,000-fold difference in the recharge ratio? Such a hidden setting is also an important reason why "Entertainment TV" can attract and retain a large number of live broadcast guilds in a short period of time.

Yu Mou, the founder of "Environmental Entertainment TV", confessed after the case that in 2018, he registered a company with the identity of others, originally carrying out the live broadcast guild business, but has not made money. In the first half of 2020, under the guidance of others, Yu transformed into a live broadcast platform, that is, "Entertainment TV". At first, several employees of the company "attracted business" everywhere, but few guilds settled in. Until September 2020, an employee met a man surnamed Xue in Tieba who claimed to be a senior practitioner with a lot of resources for the live broadcast guild, but asked Yu to increase the "rebate" ratio to more than 90%.

"The user's recharge or tip is to enter the live broadcast platform account first, and then the platform will return it to the live broadcast guild according to a certain proportion." According to my understanding, several large live broadcast platforms in China have a return rate of about 50% to 80%. Yu Mou pondered that if he did not agree, the platform could not do it, so he agreed to Xue. Sure enough, Xue Mou successively introduced a number of live broadcast guilds to settle in, and the high "environmental entertainment TV" and "rebate" were also slowly circulating. By the time of the incident, there were more than 900 guilds stationed on the platform.

Many of these guilds are engaged in emotional fraud. In order to be able to make a steady profit, they have found Yu and asked to "open the back door". Yu also has his own calculations, only relying on the anchor to talk and sing in the live broadcast room, it is difficult to attract users to pay a large number of tips, and it is necessary to stimulate users through PK matches. However, if the platform directly gives the guild a "diamond" for free by changing the background data, once the incident occurs in the future, the platform will bear the responsibility of providing false "diamonds". Therefore, Yu adopted a "compromise" plan, that is, to let the guild symbolically charge some money in exchange for a large number of "diamonds".

"After a live broadcast, the guild boss may only spend a few dollars, and they don't care at all." Yu said. From September 2020 to April 2021, the "Entertainment TV" platform has received a total of more than 100 million yuan in user recharge, of which how many people are deceived, it is difficult to accurately count.

Mask the nature of emotional fraud with webcasting

In online games, some companies will also arrange employees to be "trusted", by directly issuing props and equipment to their game characters, etc., to enhance their strength, and even take the initiative to provoke, stimulating the "local tycoons" players in the game to recharge more. From a formal point of view, it is the same as the practice of "Huanyu TV", why do the public security and the procuratorate think that Yu and others are suspected of fraud?

The key lies in two points, one is that Yu and others know that the live broadcast guild will carry out emotional fraud, not only do not stop, but also provide help for their criminal acts; the other is that "Entertainment TV" is deeply involved in the whole scam, and when some victims are deceived, the employees of "Entertainment TV" also play an important role.

"According to judicial statistics, during the time period when users recharged more than 100 million yuan, which is equivalent to sending 1 billion 'diamonds', the live broadcast guild brushed out more than 5 billion 'diamonds', which is more than 5 times the amount of user recharge." Without the help of the platform, where are these guilds going to carry out fraud? Yang Xiaobo said that with the passage of time, "Huanyu TV" has received more and more complaints from victims about the anchor's suspected fraud and demand for a refund.

The victim's recharge record

At first, the platform customer service was very tough and resolutely refused to refund. A chat record between Yu and customer service shows that he instructed customer service to provide evidence that the other party was a minor tip, "such as a photo holding an ID card." But later, Yu's request became that if after the first refusal, the other party still insisted on returning the money or saying that he wanted to call the police, then return the money to them. In fact, because there are more and more bad reviews of "Environmental Entertainment TV" on the Internet, at the time of the incident, Yu has established a new live broadcast platform and is planning to migrate to the past.

In addition, in order to help more guilds that lack female anchors to hold PK competitions, the two female anchors of the "Tour Entertainment TV" platform itself will also temporarily rescue the guild in the case that the guild cannot borrow other female anchors for a while at the request of Yu. In the prosecutor's view, these evidences are enough to prove that Yu and others knew that the Society would carry out fraud, and also helped and participated in them, and the amount of money involved was huge.

"The essence of so many fraud cases is emotional fraud, but it is covered with a new shell - webcasting, making it more hidden and deceptive." Yang Xiaobo said that in this case, although many users complained to the platform, none of them called the police, and the police accidentally found clues when cracking another "bean carob" platform live broadcast fraud case, "As an ordinary user, it is difficult to distinguish whether the platform is engaged in small actions behind the scenes with the guild." The only thing you can do is to polish your eyes and don't believe these routines. ”
