72 years ago, the founding ceremony was held in Beijing, and many key figures who made great contributions to the Chinese revolution ascended the Tiananmen Tower. One of the main activities is the military parade.

In 1948, our People's Liberation Army had already taken the initiative on the battlefield, but considering that the north of the Yangtze River had not yet been liberated, Chairman Mao pointed out that it was not ready to establish a Central People's Government this year. The estimated time is approximately "1949". In less than half a year, Chinese people won three major battles. During the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee, everyone unanimously agreed that the Central People's Government would be established soon.
Subsequently, the preparatory work for the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China began actively under the auspices of Zhou Enlai and others.
As one of the three important agendas, the military parade ceremony was arranged and became the focus of everyone's discussion for a while. In addition to this one in Tiananmen Square, there is also a plan at Xiyuan Airport.
In the Case of Xiyuan Airfield, although the terrain is wide, in case of enemy air raids to facilitate evacuation, but the location is too remote, and if the review platform is rebuilt, it will not only take time and time, but also consume a lot of money.
In order to make the military parade ceremony of the grand ceremony go smoothly, the preparatory committee of the grand ceremony also set up a special military parade command organization, and the general commander was Nie Rongzhen. The personnel participating in the parade are mainly close to the draw, including the North China Military Region and the Pingjin Garrison District. After the "Military Parade Ceremony Plan" was put forward, Chairman Mao listened to the report and said: This military parade is also the first war, the first time the founding of the country, and we must do a good job.
According to the original plan, there was no air force, because our air force was too young, and the number of fighters that could be used was very small, and many aircraft captured from the enemy were not up to standard. But Chairman Mao and others believe that the founding ceremony is not bad without airplanes.
Just when the planes that were in a state of distress, Zhou Enlai proposed that the planes that had participated in the inspection first turn around and then take part in the second time, so that the problem of fewer planes could be solved; in order to ensure that nothing was lost, Chairman Mao also approved several test flights before the founding ceremony.
After all, just a few months ago, the Kuomintang made every effort to send 6 B-24 bombers to attack Nanyuan Airport, causing certain casualties. Just when everyone was fidgeting, Zhou Enlai stood up at the meeting and told everyone that this was the test flight of our plane for the founding ceremony. Hearing this, everyone was happy to applaud our pilots.
A major military parade is also indispensable to the enemy. Nie Rongzhen, as the commander-in-chief of the parade, analyzed the characteristics of the enemy aircraft and proposed that the time of the ceremony be set at 3 p.m. Why?
At that point in time, if the enemy plane flew to Beiping and faced the sun, it would be very passive to fight at a high altitude, and the time was too late, and it was difficult to say whether it could return before dark. I took the risk of endorsing the suggestion. In addition, the long-closed city gate hole under Tiananmen Gate is about to be reopened, and four air raid shelters will be built with the help of this.
Moreover, just in case, the air force units of our army will take live ammunition to the military parade, and if any reactionaries dare to come, they will certainly deal a resolute blow. In addition, in accordance with Premier Zhou's instructions, the relevant units of our army have carried out mine clearance inspections on the predetermined driving route, the Forbidden City, and other places near the ceremony since the 25th. In the first 48 hours of the founding ceremony, Beijing was strictly controlled, and all efforts were made for one goal - to ensure absolute safety!
After all the preparations were done enough, Nie Rongzhen still issued a death order to the troops under parade: To maintain the original formation, the knives in the sky cannot move!
At 4:35 p.m. on October 1, 1949, the military parade officially began. The troops on parade walked through Tiananmen Square in the order of sea, land, and air, and 17 planes drew a beautiful arc in the air, and the crowd in the square boiled. Look, a prosperous world is coming!
