At present, the yellow-rimmed closed-shell turtles circulating in the pet market are mainly divided into two categories.
The origin is the Taiwan rim of the Taiwan region, and the mainland edge of the Chinese mainland. Among the continental edges, the yellow edge individuals in the Dabie Mountains of Western Anhui are the most beautiful, which is commonly known as the An Edge of the Players. Others are mainly distributed in Henan, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and other places, and the yellow edge of these areas is commonly known as: continental edge (except Anhui edge).
Of course, in addition to the above two categories of yellow-edged turtles, there are also some distributed in Japan's Kyushu Islands and Ryukyu Islands, because the Japanese government strictly prohibits the trade of native yellow-edged turtles, so the Japanese origin of yellow-edged turtles is rare in the market (almost none).

Yellow-edged closed-shell turtle is a semi-aquatic turtle, inhabiting the forest edge, weeds and shrubs in hilly mountains, like to live in groups, during the day mostly hidden under the quiet, dark and damp tree roots and stone crevices, often can see multiple turtles in the same cave, the activity is dark, but not far from clean water. Yellow-rimmed closed-shelled turtles are meat-fed omnivorous turtles that feed on insects, worms, and molluscs in the wild. The survival temperature is 0 to 43 °C, and its circadian rhythm varies with the season. If it rains, it will rain outside the cave. Like yin, not yang, so the sun needs to be shaded. Stop eating when the temperature drops to 18 °C and enter hibernation when it drops below 13 °C.
Yellow-edged turtle is a relatively easy turtle species, suitable for novices to try, in addition to the slightly higher price, there is really no disadvantage. The breeding environment is very flexible, it can be a landscaping art environment, it can also be a simple and rough naked tank, or even a dog walking free range, and the yellow edge can live very leisurely. However, Xiao Mob should remind that the large temperature difference is indeed a big threat to yellow edge seedlings, so Xiao Mob does not recommend that players buy seedlings with large differences in regional environment. For example, I myself in the Shanghai area, it is not recommended to buy the seedlings of Guangdong merchants, here is not to say that the yellow edge of Guangdong merchants is not good, but the environmental differences are easy to make the seedlings sick. It is best to choose a business near your residence. So, how is a delicate and beautiful breeding environment arranged? First you need a feeding container, which can be this, this, this, and this. The floor material is coconut soil, humus soil, laterite soil, or no soil at all. Dodge and water basin need to be set. Huang Yuan loves to eat bugs, earthworms and tomatoes. However, Xiao Mo suggests that turtle food be the main food. Yellow-edged turtles are not picky eaters, and generally the turtle food on the market can be accepted. I myself use high enough good jade fungus, Cameai hair color grain, Decai hair color grain, German Cerry, of course, if you need to be more cost-effective, you can choose the inch gold tri-color grain. The artificial breeding technology of the yellow-edged closed-shell turtle has matured, so the yellow-edged seedlings that can be purchased on the market are artificial, and there is no need to worry about the problem of eating, if you do not eat, it is not adapted to the environment, or there is a health problem.

Since the Yellow-edged Closed-shelled Turtle is listed in appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), players who purchase yellow-edged turtles need to keep an eye on it. To buy from a regular merchant, issue a certificate of introduction. And it can only be raised, and cannot be bred and sold privately.
