After investigation, Chen Bo lost his ideals and convictions, had a weak sense of discipline and law, violated the spirit of the eight central regulations, took advantage of official business trips to travel at public expense, and used public buses in violation of regulations; borrowed money from management and service recipients; took advantage of his position to illegally occupy public property; sought benefits for others in the contracting of engineering projects, and illegally accepted huge amounts of property.

Chen Bo seriously violated the party's honesty and discipline, constituted a serious violation of official duties, and was suspected of embezzlement and bribery, and did not restrain himself after the Eighteenth National Congress of the Party, and should be dealt with severely. In accordance with the "Regulations on Disciplinary Punishment of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," the "Law of the People's Republic of China on The Law on The Punishment of Public Employees in Government Affairs," and other relevant provisions, after the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Nanchuan District of Chongqing Municipality studied and reported to the Nanchuan District CPC Committee for approval, it was decided to give Chen Bo the punishment of expulsion from the party; the Nanchuan District Supervision Commission gave him the punishment of dismissal from public office; the proceeds of his violation of discipline and law were confiscated; and his suspected criminal issues were transferred to the procuratorial organs for examination and prosecution according to law, and the property involved was transferred together.
