Pele led Brazil to three World Cups, but do you know the four legends around him?

author:Soda Football

In the 19th century, even if the Brazilian Empire wantonly expanded its territory, Uruguay's resistance never stopped; half a century later, when Brazil was confident about establishing a "football empire" at the 1950 World Cup on its own, Uruguay once again extinguished Brazil's dream.

Pele led Brazil to three World Cups, but do you know the four legends around him?

Brazil made a comeback quickly, winning the World Cup three times between 1958 and 1970, establishing the status of the football kingdom and the strongest dynasty in world cup history.

1958 World Cup: Five swords combined to win the Gold Cup

Brazil lined up the classic 424 formation in the 1958 World Cup, in addition to pele, who was only 17 years old, they also had the winger "Birdie" Garincha, the striker Vawa, the midfield core Didi, and the tactical master Zagallo.

In the group stage, Vava scored twice in a 2-0 win over the former Soviet Union; scored the only goal against Pele in Wales in the quarter-final (which also helped Pele become the youngest player to score in the World Cup); in the semi-finals, Brazil beat France led by Fontaine 5-2, vawa and Didi scored a goal each, and Pele completed a hat-trick in the second half in 23 minutes.

In the final against hosts Sweden, Vawa scored twice in the first half, pele picked the ball past the opposing defender in the box and volleyed the goal, scoring the best goal of his career, then Zagaro added the icing on the cake, and in the final stage Pele broke the goal in front of the goal to finally freeze the score to 5-2.

Brazil lifted the Remit Cup for the first time, and the photo of the young Pele lying on the shoulder of his big brother Didi crying after the game became a classic. The frontcourt quintet teamed up to score 13 goals and put Brazil to the top of the world in this devastating way.

1962 FIFA World Cup: Garrincha successfully defended his title with the flag

The 1962 World Cup in Chile, after eight years of the World Cup, returned to the South American continent again, this time the Brazilian team is more confident than four years ago, the 21-year-old Pele is not there, Garincha, Wawa, Didi, Zagallo is flourishing.

Brazil beat Mexico 2-0 in the opening match, with Zagallo and Pele scoring. In the second game against Czechoslovakia, the opponent's strangulation tactics caused Pele to be seriously injured and bid farewell to that World Cup early.

Then Garrincha, who was regarded as no less talented in football than Pele, stepped forward, and in the quarter-final Garrincha scored twice, and Wawa then added the icing on the cake to finally beat England 3-1. In the semi-finals, the hosts Chile were eliminated 4-2, with Garrincha and Vawa scoring two goals. In the final, Czechoslovakia was again encountered, and with the first goal conceded, Brazil successfully defended the World Cup with three goals from Amarildo, Zito and Vava.

The best player of the World Cup was ultimately awarded to Garrincha, who scored four goals and won the Golden Boot along with the other three, and Wawa became the first person to score in two consecutive World Cup finals.

1966 WORLD CUP: Single-handedly eliminated from the group

In 1966, the World Cup returned to England, the birthplace of football, but with the retirement of Didi, Zagaro and Wawa, and the continuous drunkenness of Garincha on the sidelines, the dominance of the Brazilian Legion was much worse than before.

Although the first match of the group stage was lightly beaten 2-0 Bulgaria, in the second match against Hungary, the Brazilian team lacking Pele was stubbornly blocked, and Garrincha was isolated on the field, and eventually he had to accept the first defeat of his career national team (60 national team matches, 52 wins, 7 draws and 1 loss). In the third game against portugal, the strongest in history, Garincha was sidelined by injury (in the match between Pele and Garincha, Brazil maintained a complete victory), and after Pele was accidentally kicked out, Brazil lost 3-1 to Portugal led by Eusebio.

1970 WORLD CUP: Strongest Pele helped stay with Remitt

Pele was only 17 years old when he first won the World Cup, and 12 years later, Pele was 29 years old, and his teammates who fought side by side had retired one after another, and Zagaro became the manager of the team. But a new generation of Brazilian geniuses such as Jarginho, Rivilino, Tosten and Gersson has emerged, making this Yellow Jacket considered the strongest Brazilian team in history.

From the group stage, the young Brazilian team broke through and reached the final with a total victory, including Pele in the middle of the game against Slovakia.

The final against Italy, which has also won the World Cup twice, means that the winner of the match has the right to keep the Remit Gold Cup permanently. The final became Pele's performance field, in the 18th minute, Pele opened the record for the team, he received Rivelino's picky pass inside the box to score, which was also Brazil's 100th goal in the World Cup; in the second half Pele assisted his teammates to score two goals, and finally Brazil beat Italy 4-1, Pele lifted the Remit Cup for the third time!

Pele, who completed all competitions and scored four goals in the World Cup for the first time, eventually won the Golden Ball of the tournament and Brazil permanently saved the Remit Cup. Brazil coach Mario Zagallo also became the first person to win the World Cup as a player and coach.

Pele can be seen as the leader of the Brazilian dynasty of that era, but it was not the founder, it was the best era, it was a team of heroes.
