Today, the Celtics cut guard Garrison Matthews.
Sports reporter Jared Weiss reported that the sources revealed that the Celtics gave Matthews an offer for a two-way contract, but Matthews refused. Matthews, who is now back home, is weighing the chances of signing regular contracts with other teams and has no plans to play overseas.
Matthews played 25 minutes in the preseason and had 12 points and 4 rebounds. He played for the Wizards last season, averaging 16.2 minutes per game in the regular season and averaging 5.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.5 steals.
