In 1958, at the age of 51, Lu Wasfei was invited by his friend Pan Tianshou to be transferred to the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts as a professor.

Mr. Lu Xiaofei's skills and sketching skills in painting flowers and birds are first-class. The addition of such painters among the teachers of the Academy of Fine Arts can greatly make up for our deficiencies. ”
