Yan Fu was a bourgeois Enlightenment thinker, translator and educator in the late Qing Dynasty, one of the "advanced Chinese" in China's modern history who searched for truth from Western countries, born on January 8, 1854, and died on October 27, 1921 at the age of 67 in his residence in Langguan Lane, Fuzhou. Yan Fu graduated from the Fujian School of Shipping Administration and the Royal Naval Academy, and served as the general office of the Tang Translation Bureau of Beijing Normal University, the president of Shanghai Fudan Public School, and the editor-in-chief of the Famous Dictionary of the Qing Dynasty Academy.
