He hopes to achieve the fusion of aesthetic meaning between the two and apply it to the national opera "A River of Clear Water Flows Eastward" to create the artistic conception of landscape painting on the stage. A few days ago, Tintin was interviewed by an upstream news reporter and shared his original intention of design.
It is getting closer and closer to the premiere of "A River of Clear Water Flowing East" on October 15, and the crew has been stationed in the Shi Guangnan Grand Theater to start the installation work. When the reporter met Tintin in the theater, he was busy with the master worker who installed the stage. "Although it has been revised for 6 drafts before it is basically formed, I believe that the final stage presentation will definitely surprise the audience, which is chongqing, the city of landscapes and rivers they are most familiar with." Tintin said confidently.
Ding Ding, who majored in the Stage Art Department of the Central Academy of Drama, has performed well in the stage design work of many national operas such as "On the Banks of the Jinsha River", "Camel Xiangzi", "The Dust Has Settled" and so on. However, he confessed that in the face of "A River of Clear Water Flows East", he once felt embarrassed.
"After getting the script, I realized that it is not the same as the previous historical and classic opera works, the story takes place in the modern era, which is equivalent to the story that happened yesterday and will be put on the stage today, this misreading without aesthetic distance is not easy to accept, which is the difficulty of stage design." For the first time, I could only keep drawing, trying various possibilities, and my heart was very broken. ”
Why do you feel overwhelmed? Tintin said, "The most difficult thing to do design is to find ideas, I need to use a set of logic, a concept to string down the whole set of stories, or grasp the essence of the story, or express the spiritual connotation of the story." And "A River of Clear Water Flows East" is a work that focuses on environmental protection and shows ecological beauty, and the story is based on the 'City of Landscapes and Rivers, a Beautiful Place' In Chongqing, which is both 'a river of clear water' and a 'contemporary city', which seems to require me to create a 'peach blossom source in the modern era' on the sifang stage, logically speaking, this stage atmosphere is not easy to achieve. ”
In order to find a feeling, Ding Ding and the main creator and his party made a special trip in April this year, they set off from Guangyang Island, Nanshan and other places, took a boat through Pengshui, Shizhu, Fengjie, Wanzhou and other places, until the Gate, in a week, Chongqing's distant mountains, rivers, cities, bridges in full view. These intuitive impressions were stored in Tintin's mind, and soon there was an inspirational collision with a famous painting of the ancients.
"One day, I saw the green landscape painting of the Northern Song Dynasty painter Wang Ximeng, and suddenly my eyes lit up, and his style of work was perfectly in line with the original intention I envisioned to design this stage into a contemporary landscape painting, and I realized that the so-called 'peach blossom garden of the modern era' should be born out of the landscape painting that conforms to the traditional aesthetic." In this way, the thinking is slowly clear. ”
Tintin was then inspired by the architect Ma Yansong's use of buildings to express the relationship between Chinese cities and landscapes. "Green landscapes, in the past, painted mountains, now the city has built a dense building, why not build a 'mountain'? The relationship between people and buildings and mountains is different from the past, then, the high and low urban buildings are like the '皴' in Chinese painting (one of the Chinese painting techniques, painting the texture of objects or yin and yang to the back), this contemporary 'landscape painting' should be applied to the 'zhen method', day and night different buildings are also the texture of the city of Chongqing. ”
With mountains, there must be water. Tintin said, "I don't make water, but I make a reflection." He covered the stage with mirrors, "The mirror is 'water', and I hope to use the reflection of the mirror to express the state of 'reflection' everywhere in Chongqing." He also noticed that many green landscape paintings in the Ming Dynasty treated the "front bank" like the West Lake Quyuan lotus wind, inspired by this, he divided the whole stage into 11 platforms according to details, and through the platform constantly changing and staggering, forming a "shore". "In this way, my design has made 'far mountains' and 'near shores'."
With the building to reflect the "law", with the city as the "canvas", painting the "distant mountains" and "near the shore", and then using the "reflection" to contrast the "water meaning", the composition according to the pattern of Chinese painting, the combination of virtual and real in the image, with the "city" instead of the "mountain", this "Moshan mountain water painting" is basically completed. Ding Ding said that he hopes that his feelings about Chongqing are accurate, and he also hopes that this special "peach blossom garden of the modern era" on the stage can impress the Chongqing audience, "This is the work dedicated to Chongqing by all our main creators, and I hope that the audience can see our intentions and feelings." ”
