On October 26, in the Yazhou Batou Nanfan Base in Sanya City, the Sanya Research Institute of the Hainan Academy of Agricultural Sciences organized relevant experts to carry out the 2021 Hainan Provincial Major Science and Technology Plan Project "Hainan Double-cropping Rice Yield 3000 Kilograms per Mu New Variety Screening and Supporting Technology Research and Demonstration" implemented by the Green and Efficient Industrialization Improvement Project Team of Grain Crops, which academician Yuan Longping had personally guided, and carried out late production on-site production and acceptance, and the final yield measurement results were: Hybrid rice double-cropping mu yield reached 1586.86 kg. This figure set a record for the highest yield of double-cropping rice per mu in Hainan.
On the same day, the expert group selected 3 representative plots from the demonstration film for actual cutting and production measurement, and the final result was that the average yield of the experimental demonstration film was 660.36 kg per mu. In May this year, also at the Yazhou Batou Nanfan Base, the early production measurement result of the special project was an average yield of 926.5 kg per mu. Therefore, the final double-cropping mu yield of the demonstration film reached 1586.86 kg, exceeding the target of 1500 kg per mu of academician Yuan Longping's hybrid rice.
At the end of 2020, Academician Yuan Longping proposed to launch a cross-cropping project of 3,000 jin per mu of hybrid rice in the whole country, making new contributions to ensuring grain production. Academician Yuan Longping especially proposed to Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, that he would take the lead in organizing the implementation of the project in Hainan and present a gift to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party. To this end, Shen Xiaoming asked Hainan Science and Technology, Agriculture and other relevant departments to do a good job of support and cooperation to create better conditions for hybrid rice science and technology.
Wang Xiaoning, executive chief of the green and efficient industrialization improvement engineering team of grain crops of Sanya Research Institute of Hainan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that the double-season mu yield of 3,000 jin has been achieved, which on the one hand improves the yield of rice, and can also increase the sown area of rice and thus increase the total grain yield, which is an effective way to solve food security. The implementation of this project is of great significance in order to create a better atmosphere for grain production, attract more enterprises, cooperatives and farmers to participate in grain production, promote the expansion of grain production, and especially promote rice-vegetable rotation to improve soil.
It is reported that the demonstration hybrid rice combination planted in the experimental demonstration piece is Jifengyou 1002, with an area of 40 mu. The production measurement expert group unanimously agreed that the experimental demonstration film applied integrated cultivation of strong seedlings, seedling transplanting, wide and narrow row planting, nitrogen control and anti-upside down cultivation, anti-aging seed cultivation and other regulatory technologies achieved good results, at the same time, the demonstration film field growth is green, neat and consistent, balanced growth, no disease and insect hazards, better show the yield and disease resistance characteristics of the variety.
