There are many ancient villages along the sea, and most of them are relatively well preserved. Kongqiu Ancient Village, located on the mountain northeast of Linhai, is one of them.
According to historical records, Kongqiu Village was founded in the Ming Dynasty, when Zhang Tingke, a native of Ninghai (present-day Haiyou Town, Sanmen County, Taizhou City), fled into the mountains to escape the chaos of war and settled here. The village still has a complete Zhang ancestral hall. The descendants of the Zhang clan will come back every year at a specific time to worship their ancestors.
But I don't know why the name of the village was taken as Kong Qiu, I think it is probably the ancestors of the Zhang clan who especially worshiped Confucius, and they very much hoped that their descendants could read poetry and books, and one day, they would walk out of the mountains in a posture full of warp to win fame and fortune.
To go to Kongqiu Ancient Village, start from Linhai to Huixi Town, then continue north, and then turn up the mountain when you reach the mouth of the Maohuling Tunnel. There are clear signs at the intersection. Then climb about 10 kilometers of mountain roads to get there.
On the way, you will pass by a village called Xianren Bridge, which is probably also an ancient village, and I heard that there is a naturally formed stone bridge. I will have time to look for it later.
Probably because Kongqiu Village is hidden deep in the mountains, the whole is still very well preserved, and the ancient wind still exists. In the village, there are Zhang Clan Ancestral Hall, Auxiliary Scripture Hall, Half Cultivation Hall and other mountain courtyards and corridor houses from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, which are quite distinctive.
The ancient village is surrounded by high mountains and nice scenery. There are also a lot of alpine terraces. Unfortunately, it just happened to rain that day, and the drone could not be used. If you take aerial photography, you should be able to photograph the idyllic mood of kongqiu ancient village!
