The owner of the epitaph, Qiu Shili, was the founding father of the Tang Dynasty.
In the epitaph, a large number of pages mention that this person supported the rebellion against the Sui, attached himself to Li Yuan, the king of Tang, made countless military achievements, and after entering the Tang Dynasty, he successively assisted Gaozu and Taizong, and died in the fourteenth year of Zhenguan.
In the fifteenth year of Zhenguan, Qiu Shili was buried with his wife in Chang'an County.
The great calligrapher Ouyang Que also died at the age of 85 in this year, so many people believe that this small epitaph is Ouyang Que's last work.
The characters in the epitaph are similar to Ouyang Que's later style, with the knot body flat in the middle of the middle to see the side, the dignified middle to see the flexible, interspersed with avoidance of vivid and natural.
