In 2004, 21-year-old Li Chun entered the railway after graduating from secondary school. Looking around, he felt a great deal of pressure: 12 of the 14 people assigned with him were college graduates.

Li Chun was born in Shizong County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. In 1997, Li Chun, who had just entered junior high school, witnessed the exciting moment of the opening and operation of the Nankun Railway. The rolling "iron dragon" sowed the seeds of dreams in his heart, and since then, he has often stood in the classroom on the third floor and watched the trains coming and going. After graduating from junior high school, this teenager, who had never taken a train before, took the train to study for the first time, and gradually approached his dream.
The road to chasing your dreams is not always smooth. Realizing your dreams requires a lot of blood, and it also needs both wind and rain. Li Chun transforms pressure into motivation and turns the baptism of wind and rain into nutrients for growth.
"I only saw the railway work very energetic before, but I didn't expect that there was suffering and tiredness behind it." After entering the Kunming Engineering Machinery Section and becoming a big machine driver, Li Chun was also shaken. During the day, the continuous roar of large road maintenance machinery made his eardrums buzz, and the dust went straight into his mouth and nose. At night, the temperature in the campervan is as high as 40 degrees Celsius, making it difficult to toss and turn. The driver of the big plane has been working outside for a long time and lives a "gypsy" life. "At that time, I was working in the field for several months, and every day my head was numb and dusty." Li Chun said.
But soon, Li Chun made up his mind: he could eat bitterly but not in vain, and he had to find a way to learn the real skill.
Li Chun has a stubborn personality and sets a learning goal for himself: to be a "big machine pass", not only to open a big machine, but also to eat through the structural performance of each component of the big machine, so that he can listen to the machine, quickly troubleshoot, and make his maintenance level surpass others.
In the face of large-scale road maintenance machinery with complex structure, high technical content and diverse models, Li Chun, who is so strong, was not intimidated by difficulties. In order to make up for the lack of business theory knowledge, he chased after the master during the day and held the book at night. Others have a break from work, and he still holds the circuit diagram of the big machine to ponder. In addition to seriously studying mechanical properties and circuit knowledge, he often went to the fault site to study carefully, study carefully, check the location of the fault on the spot, and chase the technician to find out the cause of the fault. After professional knowledge learning and on-site experience, in 2007, he won the first place in the Kunming Railway Bureau Large Road Maintenance Machinery Competition.

In recent years, large-scale road maintenance machinery has been constantly innovating, large-scale tamping machines have developed from step-by-step to continuous to continuous tamping stabilizers, pickaxes have also increased from 16 to 48, and the control system has been upgraded from analog control panels to digital control panels, and the efficiency and accuracy of tamping operations have been greatly improved.
The upgrading of equipment and technology also put forward new challenges and requirements for Li Chun, and he tried to help large-scale road maintenance machinery overcome the difficulties of "water and soil dissatisfaction" and "one line and one policy".
In June 2014, the construction of the Yunnan section of the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway entered the decisive stage, and the construction period was tight and the task was heavy. At the critical moment when the cadres and workers of the whole section worked overtime to grasp the construction period, 4 of the 6 large-scale tamping trucks "nested" in one day. Due to the design defects of the 09-32 type tamping car locking pin and locking block, the vehicle has a false locking phenomenon of flattening the car.
In order to completely solve the problem of false locking of the 09-32 type tamping car flat car, it is necessary to cut the flat rod of the large machine flat car from the bottom up into two sections, and change the locking block to a locking sleeve. However, the flat rod is cut into two sections from bottom to top, and how to divide will directly affect the accuracy of the positive and negative 1 mm error of the high-speed rail line, which may endanger the safety of high-speed rail traffic.
The earnest expectations of Duan leaders and co-workers made Li Chun feel a heavy responsibility on his shoulders, and also stimulated his "bull energy" to innovate and tackle key problems.
Li Chun set a high standard for himself: to find and capture the commanding heights of error within plus or minus 1 mm and close to zero error, so as to ensure the stability of high-speed trains in high-speed operation.
In order to overcome the difficulties, Li Chun circled the 09-32 type tamping car for 3 days, and during the day in the sauna-like engine compartment, he checked the drawings, analyzed the design principle and working conditions of the lock pin and the lock block; in the late night when everyone else fell asleep, he meditated alone under the stars.
In the end, he found a solution: on the basis of comparing the original factory drawings, the flattening rod of the flat car was cut into two sections from bottom to top, 1270 mm and 500 mm, and the locking stop block was changed to a locking sleeve, which finally solved the problem of false locking of the flat car.
In the process of transformation, the technical difficulties of more than a dozen links have been overcome one by one, and the transformation has been successful. Amid the cheers of joy, the tamping car was "energetic" and re-entered the battle.

In June 2016, Nankun Kezhu entered the refining stage, and the operation vehicle group of this section was stationed at the operation site. On the first day of construction of Funing Station, when the tamping truck was working on the line with a slope of 13 ‰, there was a failure that the satellite car could not move forward. Li Chun immediately rushed to the fault site and inspected the satellite trolley to find that the forward current of the satellite trolley was too small. He adjusted the P7 potentiometer of the satellite car control board according to the daily fault disposal method, but the satellite car still did not move, all the maintenance personnel had no way, and the construction was temporarily stalled. Li Chun flipped through the circuit diagram overnight, carried out "brainstorming" with the workshop maintenance personnel, debugged the P8 preset current potentiometer of the circuit board, successfully overcome the difficulty of large slope tamping operation, and provided a guarantee for the orderly advancement of high-speed rail construction.
With the spirit of excellence, Li Chun also summarized and refined the results of "six-step work method for tamping device diagnosis" and "47 points of ring car inspection", optimized the process and process, formed a unified standard, and facilitated everyone to master technical skills well and quickly.
