Chongqing, Sunday before the Qingming Festival, under Gele Mountain, in front of the tomb of the martyrs.

Zhou Yong, who is over 60 years old, and his wife, sister, students and a group of 10 people carefully placed 110 flowers in front of the monument. Stop, bow, and whisper to them as if they were worshipping loved ones.

More than 70 years ago, Zhou Yong's father, Zhou Yonglin, was a CCP underground worker, and the three comrades who covered him were sacrificed in the White Mansion and the Slag Cave. They lay in a huge joint tomb behind the monument.

"Seniors, I am Zhou Yong, the son of Zhou Yonglin, and I have brought my wife, sister, and students to see you again...

When my father was alive, he called us to the bedside and told him: Without your protection, he would be gone! Without us, without this home...

He said that the red inheritance could not be broken. Tell us that after his death, our children and grandchildren, our ancestors, will come for generations..."

Such worship has been going on for 72 years since 1949.

72 years rain or shine. Zhou Yonglin is gone, and his son Zhou Yong is already a white-haired man, and it has been passed down to his grandson and great-grandson for four generations.

This year, unlike previous festivals. Among the yellow and white chrysanthemums brought by Zhou Yong, 10 red carnations are specially embellished. Zhou Yong said it was a "special gift." This year, the Communist Party of China is celebrating its centenary birthday, and they want to report to their ancestors: Behind the martyrs, the mountains and rivers of the motherland are unharmed, and the red flag is even higher!

The 3 martyrs who covered Zhou Yonglin were named Hu Youyou, one named Tao Jingzhi, and the other named Li Youlin. When Zhou Yonglin was engaged in underground work in Beibei and the outskirts of Chongqing, Hu Youyou and Tao Jingzhi were his direct superiors. Li Youlin, on the other hand, is a non-party person working for the party and belongs to the object of Zhou Yonglin's unity.

"At that time, it was all one-line contact, and they all knew that my father was a member of the Communist Party. Hu Youyou and Tao Jingzhi also possessed a large amount of information within the party, and in the face of the enemy's threats and inducements, they could exchange a little disclosure for the hope of life. But they never told the truth, did not change their ways, did not betray, and they used their sacrifices to protect other comrades and the underground party organization. Zhou Yong said.

After laying flowers, Zhou Yong and his party recited two familiar poems aloud again as usual in front of the martyr's grave:

(i)

Why should the revolution ask life and death,

Will the kingdom be glorious,

Now my generation will go to Cheng ren,

In an instant, Huang Quan formed an alliance again.

(ii)

Traitors to the country and the people hate the only husband,

One vertebrae is not completely lost,

The bell frequently looked between the windows,

A few days the Red Army arrived in Guyu.

These two poems are the desperate poems of the martyr Li Youlin.

After the liberation of Chongqing, Zhou Yonglin and other comrades rushed to Gele Mountain for the first time to collect the bodies of the martyrs. At that time, the fire in the slag cave had not been completely extinguished, and the bodies of the martyrs were everywhere inside and outside the cell, completely unrecognizable.

Zhou Yonglin rushed to the White Mansion again, and the old man who guarded the door took him to a small house on the second floor, saying that Li Youlin was locked up here. I saw that in the room, there were mats made of grain grass, and on them were a pile of tattered mats and mattresses. The old man pointed to one of the "beds" (bunks) and said that Li Youlin slept here. Zhou Yonglin immediately turned over the grass mats, rotten mattresses and mats, hoping to find what Li Youlin had left behind, and finally found a piece of yellow straw paper under the mat, and saw that there were a few lines written on it, and the payment was actually "The Twenty-fifth Day of November of Youlin" - only two days after the "11.27" massacre. Just 3 days later, Chongqing was liberated. This is the desperate poem left by the martyr before he died!

Later, when the Chongqing Geleshan Revolution Memorial Hall was established, Zhou Yonglin handed over this precious cultural relic to the organization.

"Everyone in our family can memorize them, and when children can talk, they have to learn these two poems." Zhou Yong said that when he first learned, he did not understand it at all, especially when his father used the authentic Sichuan dialect to say "glory" as "guangyun" and "alliance" as "to form the people", and the children in the family could only memorize the "Book of Heaven". It wasn't until I grew up and read the original text that I understood the profound meaning.

Memorize poems, sweep graves, tell the story of every martyr, and tell the history of the party. There are many remembrances like this in this red family.

What made Zhou Yong particularly unforgettable was that on the eve of the 2009 "11.27" anniversary, his 90-year-old father, Zhou Yonglin, after paying the last sacrifice to his comrades-in-arms, called all the children together and calmly said: "I can't walk." Every year after that you will go to Mount Gele to offer flowers. After that, your children will go too, and they will all go! ”

Zhou Yong, who is already an expert in party history, has experienced his father's deep meaning: how to inherit the history of the party with the red gene? It is in this generation-after-generation, annual festival sweep; in the back of the poetry of future generations; in the old stories that grandfathers tell to their grandchildren, and fathers to their sons.
