In the Republic of China period, a strange warlord appeared, that is, Sun Dianying. Sun Dianying was not in the mainstream of both strength and ability among the warlords of the Republic of China. But it can be known to the world. The main reason was that he dared to risk the world's great disobedience to steal the tomb of the Qing Emperor.
According to him afterwards, the main reason for robbing the tomb was that "the Great Qing killed three generations of my ancestors, and I had to avenge the revolution!" After stealing the tomb of the Qing Emperor, I am worthy of my ancestors and my compatriots of the Great Han!"
Whether Sun Dianying's theft of the Qing Tombs was driven by interests or hated to avenge the country, no one can say for sure. But when it comes to Sun Dianying's family, they really have a "blood sea deep vendetta" with the Manchu Qing.

Sun Dianying, who stole the tomb of the Qing Emperor

In the "History of the Republic of China - Sun Dianying Biography", it is recorded that the Northern Expedition was revived and annexed. When stationed in Dongling, those who were expected to be angry said: "After the Qingling Tomb is completed, I am afraid that there will be a restoration of the Manchu court, and the Han Room is in danger." The general is anxious to do it". When Sun Shuai heard this, he said indignantly: "My ancestor Chengzong Gong, ben Daming Jingluo, was killed by the captives, and the descendants escaped, and Fang was spared, and my father was also victimized by the Banner people." This is the so-called vengeance of the Ninth Dynasty, and now for the sake of the compatriots of the Great Han, this disaster will be broken." So he waved his troops to cut off the dragon vein of the Qing Chamber.
The coffin of Cixi that was opened
Sun Dianying said that his ancestor was Sun Chengzong.
In the last years of the Ming Dynasty, there was a Manchu Qing rebellion outside and a Li Zicheng uprising inside, and although the country was in turmoil, there were still a group of able officials who were loyal to the country and worked hard to defend the Ming Dynasty. Sun Chengzong is one of them.
Sun Chengzong (1563-1638), courtesy name Zhisheng (稚绳), was a native of Gaoyang (present-day Hebei), Baoding, and was a veteran of bingbu Shangshu and Taifu. He was once a teacher at The Ming Dynasty Emperor Zhu You's school, and then replaced Wang Zaijin as the governor of Jiliao, built the Ningjin 200-mile defense line, commanded an army of 110,000, and achieved outstanding feats, but was jealous of Wei Zhongxian and resigned his official post and returned home.
Later, Emperor Taiji led his troops to besiege Beijing, and sun Chengzong also went out to discuss and retreat. Afterwards, Sun Chengzong enjoyed his old age in Gaoyang's hometown.
In 1638, the Qing army attacked Gaoyang, and the 76-year-old Sun Chengzong led his family to defend the city. But in the end, Gaoyang City was destroyed, and Sun Chengzong's family was all captured. Dorgon ordered Sun Chengzong to be dragged alive on a horse's tail and dragged to death. Sun Chengzong's family also had no good luck, Sun Chengzong's five sons, six grandsons, and two nephews, eight nephews were all killed in battle. In this battle, more than a hundred people of the Sun family were killed, and it can be said that the whole family was martyred.
Sun Chengzong
In Sun Dianying's generation, Sun Dianying's father was killed because of a quarrel with a flag man, but this flag man was not executed because someone in the DPRK was killed. In this way, Sun Dianying completely hated the Qing Dynasty.
The death of Sun Dianying's father needless to say, but is Sun Chengzong, a Ming Dynasty cattle man, really sun Dianying's ancestor?

second, Sun Dianying is really a descendant of Sun Chengzong?

First of all, although most of Sun Chengzong's family was martyred, but there should be descendants passed down, history records that Sun Chengzong had a total of 7 sons, 13 grandchildren, of which the eldest son Quan in Gaoyuan County, Shandong Province, as a Zhi County, is estimated not to stay at home. Only 5 sons and 6 grandchildren were clearly killed in battle. Whether the other 9 children and grandchildren were captured and killed is not 100% certain.
According to Sun Dianying himself, his family was passed down to one of Sun Chengzong's sons, who happened to be in Henan when the Qing army was besieging the city, so he escaped death and has been living in Henan ever since.
But this is only one side of Sun Dianying's words, and according to current historical data, it is impossible to prove that Sun Dianying is a descendant of Sun Chengzong.
After stealing the Tanglin Tomb, Sun Dianying also bluntly said that in addition to revenge for the family, the tomb robbery was also to avenge the country. He said: "First, when the Manchu Qing Entered the Customs, Daxing Wen Prison, the net killing of scholars, such as Lü Liuliang, Dai Mingshi, and other people, were all opened to the coffin and killed, although I am not talented, I also know that the Buddhist scriptures have said, and I have given it to others in the way of others; second, the Manchu Qing ruled for three hundred years, and the looted wealth is unknown, and today I am sending a tomb to pass through the world's goods, reap the benefits of operation, and enrich the treasury of Tibet. ”
As for whether Sun Dianying went to rob the tomb for this reason, we don't know today. However, Sun Dianying was able to rise to the top and get rich safely after breaking through the catastrophe, and had to admit that his means could be.

Sun Dianying was criticized by public opinion throughout the country after the tomb robbery, and the theft of the Qing Tombs was raging throughout the country. So Chiang Kai-shek ordered Yan Xishan to be put in charge of the matter, and in order to save his life, Sun Dianying took the treasure of Tanglin and began to make some relations.
Sun Dianying sent 500,000 yuan of gold bars to Yan Xishan, a Qianlong Nine Dragon Sword to Chiang Kai-shek, and a Pearl of the Night in Cixi's mouth to Song Meiling, Dai Kasa, Song Ziwen, and so on.

Finally, due to the "complexity" of the case, the result of the trial was that Tan Wenjiang, the commander of Sun Dianying's Eighth Division, was imprisoned.
In this incident, the most fierce was the Manchu Qing widows, but at that time, the powerless and powerless they could only scold Sun Dianying in the northeast, it is said that Puyi almost died of anger after hearing this, Puyi is said to have hand-painted a pair of "Kill Sun Dianying" to vent his anger, the painting is currently on display in the Changchun Pseudo-Manchukuo Museum.

Sun Dianying had been an official after the tomb robbery incident, and was later recruited by Zhang Xueliang and became a military commander under him. And he once fought with the Japanese army in the Chifeng area for 7 days and 7 nights, and he was also one of the few generals who fought to the death with the Japanese army. Unfortunately, Sun Dianying was still the style of the warlord of the Republic of China, who had a milk and a mother, and later saw that the Japanese were strong, so he easily became a traitor. After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, it surrendered again and was again absorbed by Chiang Kai-shek.
In 1947, during the Battle of Tangyin, Sun Dianying was captured by the People's Liberation Army, because Sun Dianying had smoked opium all his life and was already terminally ill, although the People's Liberation Army specially approved a guard to take care of his life, but still died of illness in the prisoner of war camp.
Sun Dianying actually did not think that he was wrong to steal the Qing Tombs from the beginning to the end, he felt that "Sun Yat-sen revolutionized the lives of the Manchu Qing; Feng Huanzhang (Feng Yuxiang) used the barrel of a gun to force the palace, driving the last emperor Puyi and his royal family out of the palace." My grandson Dian Ying didn't have a few guns, only the lives of the dead. It is said that Sun Dianying's behavior was praised by many patriotic and anti-Qing people.
Once, Feng Yuxiang saw Sun Dianying shaking hands with him face to face and said, "Brother Dianying, I admire your revolutionary spirit!" We are good friends, good comrades! In opposing the Qing court, I did what I did (referring to the expulsion of Puyi), and what you did was dead (referring to the tomb robbery). Sun Dianying listened and was greatly moved.
But as Gu Long said in his novel: there are only wrong names, no wrong nicknames. Whether Sun Dianying is a division commander, a military commander or a provincial chairman, whenever the Chinese people mention Sun Dianying, they will call him a "Tanglin Thief". The title of tomb robber, Sun Dianying can not get rid of this life.
