This is a problem of information asymmetry.

Over the next five months, I was talking to hundreds of people about the idea of "donating time."
Many people euphemistically say: "The greatest public welfare is to do your own work well." (Inner OS: Do your own thing, don't mess with these useless things)
"If only I had so much time for you to donate." (Inner OS: You're just idle)
"Find someone to donate some time to me." (Inner OS: I can't help myself, Nong Brain Watt)
There are also many people who are more excited than me: "Great, this is what I've always wanted to do", "Time itself doesn't matter." Time makes sense when you do something meaningful" and "it feels good to be needed".
So, our nonprofit website project was launched.
Our website logo is designed by volunteers, the website is developed by volunteers, the beautiful female spokesperson on the homepage is a volunteer, and the photos are also taken by volunteers.
The title "Donate time, share happiness" was also decided by the volunteers...
On October 23, 2005, the "Donation Time" website was officially released.
I have never known so many people in such a short period of time without utilitarianism.
After the launch of "Donation Time", in just one year, 564 volunteers participated in 227 volunteer activities organized by 61 institutions, donated their precious 3071 hours, made 21822 people helped, and created 2.18 million social value.
During that period, I was very, very busy.

The call came from a CCTV reporter, her name is Liang Zhengzheng, and to this day, we are still good friends.

With the resources and influence of CCTV, we have done a lot of things that were impossible to do before.
The website was previously placed on my friend's server, with only one volunteer working part-time maintenance, while on CCTV there was a dedicated server that was maintained full-time by a team of 30 people.
Even famous hosts such as Cui Yongyuan, Bai Yansong and Jing Yidan also promoted "Donation Time" for free.
In the year following the cooperation with CCTV, 3,038 volunteers donated 33,691 hours to help 160992 people.
This year's achievements are ten times greater than the "donation time" of their first year's achievements.
Because of my cooperation with CCTV, I met a CCTV director.
Suddenly one day, the director told me that I have a friend who does public welfare, and after hearing about "Charity 1+1", I especially want to know you and want to talk to you about how to do public welfare.
As soon as I heard that, I was very happy to hear it, so I happened to have a lecture on public welfare in Shanghai, and you asked him to listen to it, and we could talk about it.

When I saw him, I was amazed.
Because this person is not "him" at all, but a big beauty, and a super big beauty.
Her name is Jiang Xinrong, and she is the winner of the first Miss China Universe Contest.

I was amazed at what a big battle!
I felt a little regret in my heart, why didn't I ask Jiang Xinrong before I came, who this person really was.
At dinner, he told me that my father's dream in life was to be the god of Asian stocks.

If I didn't know the director of CCTV, I wouldn't have known Jiang Xinrong.
If I hadn't known Jiang Xinrong, I wouldn't have known Li Jiajie.
If I hadn't known Li Jiajie, I wouldn't have become his personal advisor.
If I hadn't been his personal advisor, my career as a consultant probably wouldn't have come to this point...
Along the way, I met ISA, Liang Zhengzheng, CCTV director, Jiang Xinrong, Li Jiajie...
Are they my connections?
yes.
But it's not because they're valuable to me.
It's because I'm valuable to them and can help them.
The people you can help will become your real connections.
In this year's New Year's Eve speech, Luo Fat said that the network of people is the amplifier of wealth.
What do you mean?
A person's wealth basic disk has two parts:

Many people try to please others, or try to run a network, so that one day the other party can help you.
This state is actually not right.
Find a way to get to know the cattle people, take a group photo, leave a WeChat, and the other party can become your network?
No.
If you have no value to the other person, why should the other person help you?
Only when you can help him, he will help you, which is called a win-win.
Therefore, to manage networks, always maintain a basic mentality:
Do whatever it takes to help others aimlessly.

If you want to accumulate contacts, what you can do is to continuously accumulate your own value, and constantly output your own value to help others.
If you keep shining and can't help some powerful people, it only means that you are of no value to them for the time being. They're not your connections yet.
