On October 23, the academic conference on the construction of "Construction of Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis (VTE) Prevention and Control Management System in Puyang City" sponsored by Puyang Oilfield General Hospital was held in the academic lecture hall of the outpatient building. Gou Jianjun, chairman of the Henan VTE Prevention and Control Alliance, Liu Yongbo, deputy director of the Puyang Municipal Health Commission, Jiang Dongliang, vice president of the hospital, delivered speeches, Professor Zhai Jianguo and Professor Xia Lei of the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Professor Li Jianhua of the Shaw Run Run Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University and other experts were invited to give online lectures, Deputy Director Liu Yongbo and Vice President Jiang Dongliang inaugurated the "Excellent Unit of the National Thrombosis Prevention and Control Center" of the hospital, and the heads of VTE prevention and control and disciplines of more than 20 governing units of the "Puyang VTE Prevention and Control Alliance" led by the hospital attended the meeting.
Pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis (VTE) are a group of severely lethal diseases characterized by high morbidity, high mortality, and high disability rates, with about a quarter of deaths worldwide associated with VTE, making it the third most common acute vascular disease after myocardial infarction and stroke. Doing a good job in the prevention and treatment of VTE is of great significance to ensuring life safety, reducing clinical mortality, and improving the quality of medical treatment. Under the active advocacy of academician Wang Chen of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academician Gao Runlin and other experts and the strong support of the National Health Commission, the "National Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis Prevention and Control Capacity Building Project" was officially launched in October 2018. Relying on the working mode of the medical federation, the project builds a VTE prevention and control management system at all levels of hospitals and regions around medical quality and patient safety, formulates efficient prevention and treatment methods and strategies, and standardizes the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis, thereby promoting the improvement of the overall level of VTE prevention and treatment in China.
The hospital actively assumes social responsibility, conscientiously implements the relevant requirements of the National Health commission on carrying out VTE prevention and control capacity building projects, and established the VTE prevention and control management committee and its office of Puyang Oilfield General Hospital in November 2018, clarified the high-risk departments of VTE, established a rapid response team, carried out VTE prevention and treatment training, compiled and printed VTE management, medical and nursing work manuals, and established a standardized VTE prevention and control technology system and management system. In March 2019, he applied to participate in the National Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis Prevention and Control Capacity Building (VTE) Project, became the governing unit of henan Province Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis Prevention and Control Alliance in October 2019, and established the Puyang Oilfield General Hospital Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis Prevention alliance in March 2021 in conjunction with more than 20 hospitals in Puyang City, opened a VTE joint outpatient clinic, and established a VTE management information platform. The excellent work has been fully affirmed by the provincial alliance and the national VTE project organizing committee, and at the "2021 China VTE Prevention and Control Conference" held on October 15, the hospital was awarded the honorary title of "Excellent Unit of the National VTE Prevention and Control Center".

The academic conference was conducted in a combination of online and offline, Professor Zhai Jianguo and Professor Xia Lei of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Professor Li Jianhua of Run Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University made wonderful academic reports through remote video, Guo Xuejun and other relevant departments and department leaders and experts of the VTE prevention and control system of our hospital shared on-site lectures and sharing around the construction of VTE prevention and control management system, the work of VTE prevention and control alliance, the clinical treatment of DVT, the management and practice of VTE nursing, the diagnosis and treatment of thrombophilia, the interpretation of PE diagnosis and treatment and prevention guidelines. Combined with the actual situation of VTE prevention and control, the academic conference has important guiding significance for the development of VTE prevention and control work in grass-roots medical institutions and the establishment of VTE prevention and control centers, and the participants have benefited a lot.
