On the eve of the sixth National Fish Release Day, the Municipal Fuxian Lake Administration Bureau held the launching ceremony of the artificial breeding and stocking of indigenous fish on the shore of Fuxian Lake, and released about 250,000 indigenous fish fry into Fuxian Lake.

This year's artificial breeding and stocking activities will stock 400,000 anti-wave fish, 50,000 Fuxian golden line catfish, and 50,000 Yunnan light-lipped fish, of which the Yunnan light-lipped fish system will be released into Fuxian Lake for the first time.

According to the staff of the Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Yunnan light lip fish is one of the indigenous fish of Fuxian Lake, an endangered aquatic species, and an important indigenous fish species that has been successfully artificially bred by the Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in recent years, and its bait is filamentous algae, which gradually restores its population number through artificial breeding and stocking activities, which can play a good role in inhibiting the large number of filamentous algae in the water body of Fuxian Lake.

In order to ensure the quality of breeding and stocking, the organizers of the event invited the Provincial Fishery Science Academy and the Yuxi National Notary Office to conduct species identification and on-site notarization of all fish fry.

It is understood that since 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has determined June 6 of each year as the National Fish Release Day, and our city has begun to implement the annual artificial breeding and stocking of anti-wave fish since 2007, and this activity has had an important impact on advocating all sectors of society to care for aquatic biological resources and protect the ecological environment of Fuxian Lake waters, and has promoted the efficiency of fisheries in Fuxian Lake and the increase in the income of fishermen along the lake.
