Northeast China, September 10 (Reporter Yang Fan) "Management is a science that organically combines science and artistry, and the mastery of this discipline will benefit people endlessly." Teacher Xu Guang of the School of Management, winner of the "Ning Qikun" Teaching Contribution Award of Harbin Normal University, said.
Everyone has their own dreams, and Xu Guang has his own attitude and direction for his dreams and pursuits. "I often ask myself repeatedly, what am I after in life? When I was 7 years old, I started learning guitar and composition with my brothers and released solo records. At the age of 15, he was the record holder for the 110-meter hurdles in my city. By the time I became obsessed with academic research in my 30s, I would give myself and my students an answer as to what to do. This is the text that Teacher Xu wrote to himself in "Climbing the Mountain and Watching the Sea".

The university time gave Xu Guang not only an unrestrained youth, but also a nourishment of the atmosphere of the university itself. In the early 1990s, there was a shortage of teachers in the new management profession, and young teachers had the opportunity to go deep into the classroom. It was an opportunity for his career, but also a turning point. After years of teaching, he believes that cultivating students' self-confidence requires great care and patience from the tutor, just like the trust and patience that his teacher treated him. At the same time, as a tutor, you should be good at carefully observing your students, who have different intelligence, different needs, and different starting points. "All I can do is give earlier than others, pay more." With the students, he did not have Saturdays and Sundays, did not commute to work, spent ten years to be the elite in the field, doing research, training students he was willing to give. Teacher Xu also has high requirements for his graduate students and pays attention to practice. He has a deep sense of responsibility and pride in the growth of his students, and he believes that he has such an obligation. Together with his students, he used his vacation time to do "intensive training" and teach methods for students to exchange literature and learn "Advanced Statistical Applications". Three years of postgraduate study have made Mr. Xu's graduate students a researcher who can think and work independently.
For the "Ning Qikun" award that he just won, Xu Guang quoted George Bernard Shaw: "The real joy of life is to devote yourself to a goal that you think is great. ”
