On the afternoon of October 26, the Hong Kong citizens' group "Defend Hong Kong Movement" went to the US Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macao to strongly protest the US Government's harboring of fugitives and undermining the rule of law in Hong Kong, and urged the US Government not to interfere in Hong Kong affairs again.
According to the Hong Kong Wenhui Network, the US State Department recently issued a statement intending to interfere in Hong Kong affairs, and the "Defense of Hong Kong Movement" strongly condemned this. Fu Zhenzhong, chairman of the civic group, said that the US government's slanderous and smear remarks seriously violate the Declaration on the Non-Interference and Interference in the Internal Affairs of Other Countries adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, and the United States has an obligation to avoid using and distorting human rights issues as a means of exerting pressure on other countries or creating suspicion and confusion within other countries.
The "Defence of Hong Kong Movement" expressed its absolute support for the Hong Kong SAR government to revoke the qualifications of district councillors who failed to comply with the Basic Law and pledge allegiance to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and were found to be invalid in accordance with the law. The enactment and implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the 2021 Improving the Electoral System (Comprehensive Amendment) Bill plug the institutional loopholes in the Hong Kong SAR in safeguarding national security, remove obstacles to Hong Kong's development path, more effectively guarantee the better exercise of various freedoms and rights of Hong Kong citizens under peaceful and tranquil social conditions, and ensure that "one country, two systems" is stable and far-reaching.
The "Defend Hong Kong Movement" expressed strong protest against the US government's harboring of fugitives and approving the application of work permits by Hong Kong citizens in the United States who were forced to leave The Country with delays, calling this move a move that overrides the rule of law with politics, shields thugs from ignoring law and discipline, and undermines the rule of law in Hong Kong. The group sternly warned the US government not to interfere in Hong Kong affairs again, recognized that Hong Kong is an inseparable part of China, and that Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs, and urged US hypocritical politicians to earnestly respect China's sovereignty and governing power and stop slandering and smearing the central and SAR governments.
