Beside me, there was such a Communist Party member, named Li Hengsan, who had both wisdom and strength, worked hard, served Sangzi, and took dairy farming as the starting point to lead the villagers on the road of prosperity and happiness. From him, I saw the hardships and dedication of a Communist Party member, and also witnessed the greatness and ordinariness of a grassroots party branch secretary.
On the banks of the beautiful Bai River in Nanyang City, Henan Province, there is a small village, which is a depression formed by the alluvial of the Bai River, so it is called Xiwa. Here the water and grass are abundant, and it is a natural pasture for the development of animal husbandry. Xiwa people have long had the tradition of raising dairy cows, and with the gradual expansion of the urban framework of Nanyang City, the location advantage of Xiwa Village, which is only ten miles away from the urban area, has become more and more obvious, and has the favorable conditions for the development of characteristic industries. Li Hengsan, the secretary of the village party committee, led everyone to make the dairy farming industry bigger and stronger according to local conditions, so that this depression became the fresh milk base of the pansy pigeon dairy industry, and Xiwa Village also became a well-known well-off village. Therefore, people affectionately call Li Hengsan "Secretary of Dairy Cows", and Li Hengsan has also been named "Top Ten News Figures in Nanyang City", the first "Top Ten Peasant Pacesetters in Henan Province", and "National Model Worker". He is a veritable "leading goose" of getting rich.
My grandfather Li Hengsan and I met in the summer of 2005, when I was 11 years old and he was 62 years old. It was summer vacation, and I was helping out at my father's clinic. One day, a grandfather who was undergoing treatment asked me to hand him his water cup, and I looked up, "Isn't this grandpa Li Hengsan, a national labor model?" In the past, at the induction ceremony of the Young Pioneers held at the 15th Primary School in Nanyang City, he gave us a report, so I also had a certain impression of this "model worker" grandfather. Li Hengsan was dressed simply, low-key, and looked very kind. Whenever everyone praised him for leading the whole village to get rich together, his moral character, and his role model for everyone, he smiled and replied: "It's over." The party's policy is good, and the whole village is also working hard, I just did what a party member should do. "As soon as I came and went, Grandpa Li and I became acquainted, and we became friends for many years." I often pestered him to tell me stories of the past, and it was in the process that I deeply understood the growth process of a good Communist Party member.
In 1968, li Hengsan, a young Communist Party member, graduated from the Nanyang Forestry School, gave up the opportunity to work in the city, returned to his hometown with lofty ideals, and was determined to build a new countryside and let everyone live a prosperous life. After returning to his hometown, he successively worked as an electrician, a correspondent, and a village security director, and was a new type of farmer with culture, a lively mind, and an "idea" to get rich. After the reform and opening up, with the help of the party's policy of enriching the people, Li Hengsan was as successful as a fish. In 1981, he cultivated 1.8 acres of paulownia saplings, the first to develop the "paulownia economy" within a radius of tens of miles. Later, he invested 8,000 yuan to set up the first rental station in the village.
In 1995, Li Hengsan took out more than 30,000 yuan, and together with several villagers who had the same ideas as him, raised funds to buy 12 Australian "flower cows" in Shaanxi, driving more than a dozen villagers in Xiwa to start raising dairy cows and selling milk as the main business. In order to make the villagers successful in starting a business, Grandpa Li devoted himself to the cattle breeding business. Once, the villager Liu Changsuo's cow was difficult to give birth, and after giving birth to the calf, the calf had no breath, and he immediately lay there to give artificial respiration to the calf. After 15 minutes, with his timely rescue, the calf finally came back to life, and his body was covered with blood and feces. Grandpa Li said that the rural foundation is thin, the foundation is poor, and it is impossible to afford to lose, so we must be cautious and careful when starting a business. Li Hengsan's meticulousness, carefulness and patience have finally brought the whole village's aquaculture industry to a steady and far-reaching future. By the end of 1997, the village's high-quality dairy cows had grown to more than 500 heads, becoming a well-known dairy cattle breeding base, and the villagers of Xiwa had also embarked on the road to prosperity.
In 1998, at the age of 54, Li Hengsan began serving as secretary of the party branch in Xiwa Village. After taking office, the first thing he thought about was to seize the time to do practical things for the villagers. When encountering difficulties, his most frequent mantra is "as long as the thinking does not slip, there are always more ways than difficulties." The main obstacle to the development of the dairy breeding industry in Xiwa Village was the lack of funds, and at first he lent money to everyone to buy cattle, but after a long time, he was unable to do so. In order to fundamentally solve the problem of funds for the villagers to develop the aquaculture industry, with the support of the township government, he worked with the township credit union and combined with the actual situation of the village to develop a "double plus" model of "branch + association + party and mass credit consortium", which not only effectively solved the problem of poor loans from rural credit unions, but also better solved the problem of difficult loans for peasants. In August 2004, each farmer of the first party-group credit consortium in Xiwa Village received a credit line of 50,000 yuan for the first time. After the capital pipeline was smoothed, the scale of dairy cattle breeding continued to expand, and 13 mass organizations such as the "Party-Mass Credit Consortium", "Dairy Cattle Breeding Association" and "Transport Association" were also established in Xiwa.
As milk production surges, the problem of arbitrary pricing by milk collection brokers is becoming more and more serious. Li Hengsan believes that only by establishing purchase and sales channels with large dairy distributors can milk prices be stabilized. More than 20 times to Nanyang, more than a dozen times to Zhengzhou, Li Hengsan to a number of dairy leading enterprises to promote the milk production and quality of Xiwa Village, but also with many preferential conditions to attract each other. After hearing the news, Nanyang Pansy Pigeon Dairy Company invested 1.2 million yuan to build a milk station in the village in the form of a joint-stock system that milks thousands of cows a day. After the completion of the milk station, not only has the labor intensity of the villagers been greatly reduced, but the price of milk has also increased from the previous maximum of 1.4 yuan per kilogram to 1.8 yuan. The village's dairy industry has steadily increased its income by more than 1.5 million yuan per year. The branch is the leader, the "double plus" model is two wings, coupled with the boost of large processing enterprises, the Economy of Xiwa began to take off.
Xiwa, which has gradually become richer, has not neglected the shortcomings of education and infrastructure. At that time, the village primary school had two classrooms belonging to the insurance room, and the children often attended classes in the open air. Faced with financial difficulties, Li Hengsan led the "two committees" of the village to sell the houses used by the village department, and used the proceeds and 200,000 bricks and dozens of prefabricated boards and other building materials on credit to build a new school with 31 new classrooms, offices and teachers' dormitories. He raised more than 1 million yuan to build a 4-meter-wide and 4.5-kilometer-long asphalt road through the village, and then worked hard to make the asphalt road between the natural villages as well.
With the improvement of people's living standards, the dairy industry cake is getting bigger and bigger, coupled with the early education and infrastructure investment, the conditions in the village have gradually improved, and it has been able to meet the hardware requirements of large-scale dairy cattle. When life is rich, it is also necessary to have a good living environment, so that man and nature can coexist in harmony. Li Hengsan led the villagers to carefully investigate, and found that the development of dairy cattle breeding industry in Xiwa was indeed the best choice, and should "hold on to the green mountains and not relax", make it bigger and stronger on the existing basis, and decide to take the road of ecological development. Based on this, the village branch has planned and built 170 feeding units on both sides of the main road outside the village, built a modern breeding community integrating dairy cattle breeding and breeding, fresh milk processing and sales, and invested 25 million yuan to build a breeding farm with a breeding scale of 600 dairy cows, forming a comprehensive dairy cow base, and taking the circular economic development path of "field cultivation and pasture grass - forage fertilizer cattle - cow manure and biogas production - biogas cooking - biogas residue fertilizer field". Nowadays, walking in Xiwa Village, the unit farm houses are clean and bright, rows of flowers and trees surround the front house, 4 vertical, 4 horizontal and 8 village roads are all paved with asphalt, the cultural compound and fitness square are gradually built, and the villagers begin to enjoy high-quality spiritual and cultural life while the "money bags" are bulging.
Under the influence of Grandpa Li Hengsan, the secretary of the dairy cow, I gradually understood why history chose our party, the people chose our party, and how our party put people first and sought happiness for the people. Grandpa Li often taught me that the greater a person's skills, the stronger his ability, the more people he can serve, and the greater his contribution to society. As an old party member, his dedication spirit of "bowing down to the cow" and "not having to whip myself up" gave me the courage to overcome difficulties.
"A single branch is not spring, a hundred flowers bloom in the spring and fill the garden." This is a sentence that Li Hengsan often hangs on his lips. On the road of common prosperity, we will resolutely not leave a single villager behind. He and the members of the "two committees" of the village "one person to one household" paired up to help poor households, according to the conditions of each person, according to the household, the right medicine, and finally all the poor households in Xiwa were lifted out of poverty. Under the leadership of Li Hengsan, Xiwa Village has become a well-known wealthy village and a star village.

After Grandpa Li Hengsan retired, he joined forces with several veteran party members to form the "Yellow Land" propaganda group to publicize the party's policy of benefiting the people in various forms, such as dramas, sketches, cross-talk, and dramas, praise the good people and good deeds around him, use the small stage in the countryside to publicize the great idea of getting rich, and transmit positive energy, and his footprints have spread all over Nanyang, Zhumadian, Pingdingshan, Xuchang, and other places. During the epidemic period, Li Hengsan, Lu Xudong, Zhao Keming and several other veteran party members also formed a commando team of old party members, took out their own loudspeakers and speakers, and traveled around the village and outside the village every day to timely inform the epidemic information and remind everyone to do a good job in personal protection. In them, I saw the responsibility, responsibility and dedication of grassroots party members.
The brilliance of faith is indelible, and the power of example motivates people to forge ahead. Leaving the campus and going to work, I also opened my own way of serving the people. When he resigned with Grandpa Li, he gave me two poems: "Pave a splendid table for the country, and cut down wild basil for the family." "As a grassroots civil servant in Beijing, although the work is complicated, involves all aspects, and is very bitter and tiring, Li Hengsan's grandfather's attitude toward life and the belief of party members have always been the torch that illuminates my heart."
Standing at the historical node spanning a hundred years, countless Communist Party members like Li Hengsan have selflessly dedicated themselves to their posts, made innovations and creations, and with the mentality of "success does not have to be in me" and the responsibility of "success must have me," they have touched the unchangeable original intention of this great political party in the historical leap of "standing up, getting rich, and becoming strong."
