"The Huanglei River is the third largest river in Weihai and is rich in groundwater resources. Groundwater, which is three times the surface water, has not been developed for a long time, which is also an important reason for the construction of the Huanglei River underground water reservoir project. Yang Ju told reporters that the Huanglei River underground reservoir project is composed of three parts from north to south, namely the Miaodong underground reservoir, the Xiaoguan underground reservoir, and the Donglang warm underground reservoir. Among them, the Underground Reservoir of Miaodong is composed of a temperance gate and an interception wall, the Xiaoguan Underground Reservoir is composed of a rubber dam and an interception wall, and the Donglang Warm Underground Reservoir is composed of a tide barrier and an interception wall.

It is reported that after the operation of the underground reservoir, 42.15 million cubic meters of surface water and underground reservoir capacity can be added, and 29.23 million cubic meters of water can be supplied to the urban area every year, and the annual water supply income is 35.95 million yuan. At the same time, it can improve the irrigation conditions of more than 5,000 mu of farmland on the left and right banks of the river, effectively prevent seawater from being irrigated, ensure that the 5 square kilometers of land on both sides of the river are no longer affected by seawater salinity, and form a 14-kilometer-long water ecological landscape corridor with an area of more than 4,000 mu, which has significant economic, social and ecological environmental benefits.

"In the next step, we plan to start the Weihai River and Lake Water System Connection Project in November, which plans to allocate the water resources stored in the Huanglei River underground reservoir and the sow river underground reservoir to the Mishan Reservoir to maximize the utilization of regional water resources."
