On the 26th, volunteers from 66 colleges and universities in the capital held an oath ceremony, and about 14,000 university volunteers will participate in the service work of the competition. In May this year, the Volunteer Department of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee trained a group of candidates for volunteer trainers for the Beijing Winter Olympics for relevant universities, and they are organizing volunteer reserves on campus to carry out intensive training. Sun Xiaoyu, volunteer of the Beijing Institute of Fashion: Because many disabled athletes are in wheelchairs, (we) have to lean down, try to lower our bodies as much as possible, to communicate with them in this way, to communicate with them with an equal eye, so that they will feel warm in their hearts. I think that's one of the things we volunteers should do, which is to pass on this warm emotion to them.
Volunteers are required to participate in no less than 10 hours of volunteer service practice before taking up their posts. In addition to offline training, it is also necessary to complete 23 compulsory courses in four major sections through the information and knowledge management platform of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, such as the basic knowledge of the Olympic Games, the knowledge of the Beijing Winter Olympic games and the Winter Paralympic Games, the general knowledge of volunteer service, and the skills of volunteer service. Colleges and universities are also carrying out personalized courses such as foreign languages, organizational discipline, and team building in combination with the actual situation of volunteers in the university.
Miao Guangyi, a full-time cadre of the Youth League Committee of Beijing Institute of Fashion: We are conducting skills training for general volunteers and professional etiquette volunteers (at the school). In fact, since December last year, we have been recruiting and training volunteers. Our school has more than 700 applicants, and about 49 students have been selected, including our professional etiquette volunteers and general volunteers.
It is expected that by the end of December, the volunteers will complete the general training and professional training. After volunteers take up their posts, they will also receive venue and on-the-job training for the first time.
