Xue Qikui, 76 years old this year, is the former director of the transportation department of Pangang Steel. At that time, this steam locomotive was transported back to Panzhihua from Tangshan by him.

Xue Qikui recalled that at that time, the first furnace of Pangang iron was baked, and everyone was happy and looking forward to doing a good job in production faster, so the expectations for transport locomotives were very urgent. They set off from Tangshan and escorted the car back to Panzhihua. At that time, the speed of the railway was still very slow, from Tangshan to Panzhihua, walking and stopping along the road, at the same time, it was also necessary to check while opening to see if the shaft was hot and whether the parts were normal. In the end, it took more than 20 days before and after the locomotive to arrive safely in Panzhihua.

After the arrival of the steam locomotive, Pangang regarded it as a treasure, selected the best flight attendants in the factory to form a youth charter group, and began a vigorous production and transportation task.
