"Survival or destruction is a question worth considering." This sentence appears in the illustration in front of Hamlet, and when I finished reading the book, I felt that I did not have any feelings, only that it was a tragic story, and many of the main characters were dead.

The story goes like this: Prince Hamlet, who was studying in Denmark, returned home after receiving news of his father's death, only to learn that his mother had married his uncle a month after his father's death, and that his uncle was the current king.
One night, Hamlet encounters the ghost of his father, who tells him that he was poisoned by Hamlet's uncle.
Hamlet adopts a "play-within-a-play" approach, confirming that his uncle is the enemy who killed his father. Since then, Hamlet has pretended to be crazy and stupid, but accidentally killed the father of her beloved girl Ophelia, and after Ophelia learned that Hamlet had killed her father, she chose to commit suicide, and Hamlet had to accept a duel with Ophelia's brother.
During the duel, Hamlet's mother drank poisoned wine by mistake, hamlet and Ophelia's brothers were both hit by poisoned arrows, and Hamlet, who learned the cause of the poisoning, killed his uncle before dying.
This story reminds me of a story in "Journey to the West": it was also a king who was killed by a youkai, sunk at the bottom of a well, the queen was forced to marry a youkai, there was also a prince, but the ending was different, Sun Wukong helped defeat the yokai, and the family was reunited.
Not knowing why, looking at this tragedy, I don't know what to say. What kind of person is Hamlet?
He is very clever, he protects his life by pretending to be crazy and stupid, he finds the truth through "play-in-the-play"; but he seems to be ruthless, he curses his beloved Ophelia in order to pretend to be crazy, and accidentally kills Ophelia's father, causing Ophelia to commit suicide.
In the process of revenge, he hesitated, which eventually led to the tragedy, and perhaps the following sentence can explain the reason for this tragedy: "What we have to do, we should do as soon as we think about it." Because people's thoughts will change, how many tongues, how many hands, how many accidents, how much hesitation, how much delay. ”
If he had taken revenge at the first moment, or found a way to make himself stronger, then perhaps things would have gone in a different direction, and Hamlet was responsible for the tragedy, at least Ophelia's death was related to Hamlet.
Evaluate the characters in the book? As if not wanting to evaluate, each character has his own character, Hamlet's uncle, who killed his brother for the throne and married his own sister-in-law; the queen, whether she was voluntary or forced.
Ophelia, whether she likes or dislikes Hamlet, maybe she likes it, but she doesn't dare to express it because of the disparity in status; if she doesn't like it, then why she learned that Hamlet killed her father and chose to commit suicide, of course, these are our speculations.
I would like to ask another question: If you are Hamlet, how do you choose?
Maybe I'm not interested in Shakespeare's plays and can't understand the characters in his books, but I'm glad I watched them because I'm interested in Shakespeare's Four Tragedies and Comedies.
