A movie, if it is accompanied by elements of disaster, survivors, zombies, etc., there is no doubt that it is a horror zombie film. In a way, zombies are bloody violence intertwined with reality and illusion, and the goal of each zombie film is to challenge the psychological limits of the audience.
However, man is a creature with artistic power. Even a "vampire" can be molded from the terrible demonic image of traditional Western culture into a handsome man and a beautiful woman to talk about love, wind and snow.
The movie "Warm Corpse" that I want to introduce today adds a new annotation to the zombie film, allowing us to see a new development path for the future zombie film: even the terrifying zombie can have a flash of humanity.

Based on Isaac Marion's novel of the same name, Warm Shell, Warm Body is known as a zombie version of Twilight. Directed by Jonathan Levine and co-starring Nicholas Holt and Teresa Palmer, the film was released in the United States on February 1, 2013.
The film is set in a mysterious virus that triggers an apocalyptic catastrophe, in which the victims lose their memories of the past and transform into zombies that eat the living, and the surviving humans build fortified fortresses to ward off hungry zombies from coming in droves to hunt.
The opening 10 minutes of the film are a self-narration of the subjective perspective of Zombie R, which is out of the cliché of previous zombie films. R is a zombie with no heartbeat or memory, but he has always wanted to communicate, and his inner world is full of surprise and desire.
While out hunting one day, R falls in love with Julie, the girlfriend of Perry, a human he has eaten, and rescues her from her zombie companions, taking her back to his home, an abandoned Boeing 767. As they get along, Julie also develops feelings for R, and the love between the two of them has a chain reaction, changing not only him and his zombie friends, but also the entire zombie world.
In the process, I saw three different types of zombies, which corresponded to the different life mentalities of the three groups of people.

The first type of zombie is a normal zombie.
Under normal circumstances, a zombie is a zombie, wandering back and forth every day, foraging for food when hungry, going home when it is full, and still being the zombie no matter how many days pass.
Normal zombies represent people who don't take life seriously.
This kind of person lives a life that remains the same day after day. He is driven by the instinct to survive, rather than acting with the subjective mind of the individual. In this kind of person's concept of thinking, the core of life is boring, and it is normal to go from nine to five every day.

The second type of zombie is a dark zombie that abandons itself in despair of life.
This zombie sits down every day and eventually turns into a ghoul shaped like a skeleton soldier.
Dark zombies represent people who have lost expectations of life.
This kind of person loses the expectation of life, does not complete the mission of the dream, slowly loses himself, and finally chooses to go to the abyss, step by step and cannot turn back. R calls them "skin and bones", revealing that such people are empty and tangible, and there is no thinking about life or life under the skin.

The third type of zombie is zombies like R.
Zombies like R, awakened by human love, or by the memories of love when they were once human, are no longer simple zombies, but slowly become "human corpses", and can return to humanity with time.
R stands for people who are hopeful about life and have their own thoughts.
Such people are characterized by thinking, choice, direction and a future.
In R's self-monologue, we can discover his reflections on life. He watched the transformation of normal zombies into dark zombies, and he wondered if this was his future life, but he felt really disappointed, he didn't want to live that life, but he was confused and couldn't find his way.
In such a repetitive life and reflection, he met Julie and had his own direction and future.

In fact, each of us is a "normal zombie", following the survival instinct in the repetitive timeline. But it is in such a closed loop that some people begin to think, and some people choose to stop, so there are branches of R and "dark zombie" paths, the former out of the closed loop, the latter stopping.
The film just reveals the fact that in modern society, people's spiritual crisis is more serious, and the spiritual world is more desolate.
These depictions of the zombie world in the film are precisely the materialization of the concrete image of the spiritual desert of modern people. In modern society, due to the accelerated development of production and technology, social changes are becoming more and more frequent, interpersonal competition is becoming increasingly fierce, and on the surface, people's independence and freedom have increased, but people's thinking has decreased.

I hope that everyone can have expectations for life and think about their own self.
Perhaps, we are powerless to completely change all the disharmony that we encounter in our lives. However, we, the little people and ordinary people, have thought, struggled, struggled, and lived. That's enough! Our vision is no longer limited to eating, drinking and having fun, we must pay attention to our state of existence, care about the sufferings of the people, and care about the rise and fall of the country's fortunes.
Just like in the film, in the objectified desert, human nature is quietly revived.
