In the early days of liberation, the government merged the three burning houses of Wang, Hua and Lai into Moutai Distillery, which is commonly known as Wang Mao, Hua Mao and Lai Mao. Historically, how have these three wineries been different? What kind of entanglement is there between them?
Hua Mao

In the last year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, Hua lianhui father and son founded the "Chengyi Roast House" in Maotai Town, and the wine produced was called "Hui sha mao wine" and "Hua jia wine", that is, "Hua Mao", with an annual output of 1.75 tons of wine and a maximum annual output of 5 tons.
Wang Mao
Wang Mao's production time is slightly later than Huamao, its predecessor is "Rongtaihe Burning Fang", which was founded in 1879 by the landlords Wang Rong, Sun Quantai, Tianhe Yan, and the owners of Renhuai County, with a word between the three.
Later, Rongtaihe Burnt Fang underwent a change of equity, Sun Quantai, Tianhe boss's shares were transferred, in 1936 all the shares of the Burner were owned by the Wang family, the Burner was officially renamed "Wang Mao Yaofang", the wine produced was called "Wang Mao", the scale was also smaller than Hua Mao, the annual output of Wang Mao wine averaged 1 ton, and the highest annual output was 3 tons.
In 1915, the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce of the Republic of China government sent the wines of "Chengyi" and "Ronghe" as local specialties to the World Exposition, and unexpectedly won a gold award. The two companies fought a lawsuit for honor, and finally the Guizhou Provincial Government ruled and shared the gold medal.
"Hua Mao, Wang Mao, Lai Mao" stand on three feet
In 1929, Moutai Town added another rich "Hengchang Burning House", which was later renamed "Hengxing Burning House", and since then it has formed a three-legged situation. Among the three, the oldest is Chengyi, the best reputation is Ronghe, and the highest output is Hengxing. Corresponding to the surnames of the three bosses, the average person divides the three kinds of wine into "Huamao", "WangMao" and "Laimao".
The traditional craft of Moutai wine can only be brewed once a year, and it has to go through five years of cellaring, and it is also affected by the insufficient supply of raw materials, and the output is limited. Coupled with the reputation, the price is also relatively high. At that time, Chengyi wine sold for half a silver dollar per bottle, and Ronghe wine was the most expensive, selling for 2 silver dollars per bottle.
State-owned Guizhou Moutai Factory
After the founding of New China, the three private burners chengyi, Ronghe and Hengxing were nationalized and the state-owned Guizhou Moutai Distillery was established.
In the history of Moutai, a total of four trademarks were used, namely "Workers and Farmers Brand", "Five-Star Brand", "Feitian Brand" and "Sunflower" brand. Although the packaging is constantly changing, the quality of Moutai wine is still as good as ever.
