On July 2, the Chinese Basketball Association announced the list of athletes participating in the women's basketball event of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and Henan girl Zhang Ru was successfully selected.

It was also these that made her finally selected for the Tokyo Olympic team of the Chinese women's basketball team.
The Chinese women's basketball team once won the silver and bronze medals of the Olympic Games, but at the Rio Olympic Games, the Chinese women's basketball team only ranked tenth. At present, the Olympic group of women's basketball events has been determined, and the Chinese women's basketball team in Group C will face the world runner-up and the second-ranked Australian team in the world, as well as Belgium and Puerto Rico in the group stage. According to the rules, the top two teams in the three groups of women's basketball and the two third-place teams with better results will enter the knockout round.
