Chen Yaqiong, a native of Tangxi Village, Yashan Town, was born in March 1956. In middle school, he studied at Yongchun No. 6 Middle School, practicing high jump and playing basketball. At the end of 1972, she entered the women's volleyball team in Fujian Province. In 1979, Yuan Weimin selected her to join the Chinese women's volleyball team and played the main deputy attacker.
In 1981, in the third World Cup women's volleyball match, Chen Yaqiong appeared as the main starting force, and her play was vivid and good. The individual netting ranked third, known as the forerunner of the "men's stride to help run the mobile net", and made great contributions to winning the championship.
During the Chinese women's volleyball team, Chen Yaqiong also participated in winning the 9th World Championship in 1982.
